Gotta friend looking at buying a truck that was flooded. The seller says the flooding was limited to the floorboard. It has a rebuilt title and a 1 year warranty. What should he be concerned about?

This is one reason I don't do used vehicles unless I know the seller really well. Nothing but lots of problems with water damages.

Just noticed OP is in Louisiana, flood limited to the floor in Louisiana?? Hahaha. Maybe if it was on top of a car carrier or rail car during the flood.

The biggest problem with flooded vehicles is the neverending electrical issues. You can replace all of the interior, and change the fluids. But it's not feasible to replace the entire wiring harness and that's what you would have to do to put the electrical gremlins to bed for good.

Like everyone else said, RUN FROM THAT ONE! It will never be a reliable vehicle ever again.

Also a very big difference if it was saltwater flood or not. If it's saltwater, don't even think about it, if not, get a thorough inspection and go from there. But unless the price is really low i would stay away from buying, only because it will be difficult to sell it later

I have to agree with everyone else. I would never buy a flood vehicle. It's just future problems like when you turn on your windshield wipers and the horn goes off.

Maybe if he’s up for a project. Find a donor truck that needs a motor and bodywork.

Run away fast, don't touch that thing. Also, if it's Louisiana it's likely saltwater.

In order: Orvis dog cover for rear bench seat, OE gun safe, Husky liners front/rear, Tyger tonneau tri fold, Rough Country seat covers
Sellers lie on vehicle disclosures the same way they lie on real estate disclosures.

Do not ever buy something that indicates water, flood, moisture etc damage UNLESS you plan to tear down and rebuild.

Does the purchase come with a free kick in the balls?

As already said, just about guarantee you will have nothing but electrical problems, among other things that will corrode. There is a lot of wiring under in the floor boards and along the kick panels and door seals. Moisture saturates all the carpet and insulation. Then as the car heats and cools, all that moister condenses on areas behind the dash, in the electronics, airbag connections, etc., over and over again.
