(NOT) buying a new vehicle (from Ford/Mazda)

Right? Wife told me that and my literal response was "Well no shit - the last dealership visit is the one where you sign the paperwork." LOL

 

Literally spit out some coffee as I read this.

Oh yeah, same. In fact....we went to talk to him yesterday. Turns out that the day we notified him that we wanted this vehicle from the other dealership (Seeger Toyota - they have one in St. Robert, MO and one in St. Louis somewhere), he was @ a funeral. He had no issue telling us "I've called them to tell them to hold that vehicle for me, but I'm out of pocket today." No worries...we waited till yesterday. We've seen him around town tons of times, and we trade off paying for each others' breakfasts (we usually run into him @ Cracker Barrel. LOL)

He had a guy drive to St. Louis, bring it back, detail it on the inside and outside, noticed it had no floor mats and pulled some out of a brand new 2021 Highlander for her. On top of that, while it still has the 3 year/36K bumper to bumper warranty and lifetime engine warranty (yep!) and 2 free oil changes from the other dealership that can be used anywhere.....Seeger Toyota is still giving her ANOTHER 4 free oil changes.

I mean, we didn't ask for all but, but that's the point - it's a seller's market and they know that they don't have to hustle too much, but they are anyways.

Funny side note....I asked our salesman if he knew the guy. I got his first name out and our guy said "....oh yeah, him. He's his own biggest fan. Mind if I send him a thank-you card?"

 

It's like when people say :"I found my keys in the last place I looked".....

 

Only one thing left to do!
