Earlier today, I stopped in an automotive accessory shop. I mentioned that I was interested in buy a tonneau cover. The guy says, "Well, we have tons of options. We have this, we have that, we have this, etc." Then I mention that I also have a toolbox and he got quiet, like "that's not gonna be so easy. He asked me what kind of truck and I told him 2006 Tundra. He says that might not be so easy to find. He said he would do some searching and give me a call later. So far, no call. While at the shop, I measured the bed. The internal length came to 6'2", and the toolbox was 21" wide. Does anyone here have any suggestions?

What I'm looking for is something flush or close to flush in height. I'm not too concerned with it being super secure as I am not transporting expensive tools, equipment, etc. Just looking to keep debris from collecting in the bed and possibly reduce wind drag while driving.

Just chatted online with Truxedo. They said I'd have to have one custom made. They directed me to a form to fill out and take to a local dealer for a quote. So, that's an option....I guess.

OME Nitrocharger/2612 (front), Bilstein 5100s (rear). Vanguard roll bar modified (by me) to fit over Patriot Stealth retractable tonneau. Aftermarket halo headlights with HID, various LED bulb replacements. 17" Fuel Blitz wheels with some 33" Nitto terra grapplers. Hoodscoop, nfab nerfbars, Bushwacker flares. No-name aftermarket grille, led fender extensions. Black Horse bambi-basher. Various offroad lights.
Alot of the cannister ones would work, you'd just have to back it up to the toolbox and chop the rails to fit. There's also that one I saw in another post, probably work good for you Pickup Truck Bed Covers For Sale - Peragon®. All these options would take a tiny bit of customizing, but you want custom... :p

What about just getting the cover you like best and a bed mounted toolbox that will fit under it?

Years ago I did plywood coated with rubberized roof coating, just had a 2x6 box frame with legs so it just sat in the bed and I could easily take it out in two minutes when I needed the space.

Since the truck came with the current toolbox, getting another one would be an added cost. And I like the current box. I guess I'll just stick with an open bed (I never haul anything of value, tools, equipment, etc.) and I'm not too worried about wind drag since my one-way commute to work is changing from 17 miles to 2 miles as of tomorrow. A tonneau cover was more of a want than a need.
