Bed mounting

The mounting points on the frame toward the cab are lower than the mounting points in the rear. I have a new bed that I'm putting on soon. I think I'm missing some kind of spacer. Any help would be appreciated.

 

You aren't missing anything. The support ribs in the center of the bed are shorter than the front and rear two to account for this.

 

Agreed. Also check the pic for missing bumpstop.

 

I hope you're right. But I don't see how that works. All three appear to line up level

 

As for the missing bump stop, it was never there as long as I have had the truck. Thanks, I'll add it to the list.

 

From under my truck moments ago. No spacers.

 

This is a great time (while the bed is off) for shock replacement, Fuel pump replacement, Spare tire carrier maintenance and or replacement.

 

Thanks for the tips and comparison pics all. Maybe it's an optical illusion. I'm not going to believe it until I get the bed on the frame. I'll update then!

Well the bed is new to me. I got it from a junk yard in PA. The yard owner bought it from AZ and had it shipped here. I bought it off him.

 

I saw the thread title and all sorts of thoughts went through my poor head....

 

It's good news to me to hear I'm not the only one.
