I couldn’t help myself, when I bought the truck I told myself OME would work just fine for this truck, I didn’t need anything more….

S/O to Sam at SDHQ for helping me piece together a kit that’s in stock. We’ll call it icon stage 8.5, stage 9 fronts (RR adjusters), stage 8 RXT rears (RR non adjusters), and RXT leafs along with tubular UCA and some more little goodies.
Sprayed all my bolts with PB blaster going to disassemble everything tomorrow after work and hopefully have it all put back together for my alignment appointment Monday.
I ordered the socket for the axle nuts, getting it tomorrow. Is their anything else I should grab before I pull my truck apart?
And as far as alignment, where should I be setting the coilovers at to get a good alignment with the icon UCAs, I figure I’m going to want to be shooting for that +.3 camber to maximize caster since I have et0 wheels on 35s so the extra positive camber should help with the scrub radius (just pulling numbers from the various alignment threads). I want to keep a slight rake, so something like a 3/2 lift

I feel like I keep putting these caveats on posts, but please forgive the dirty shop, we have 5 projects going besides my truck

Not sure, but maybe brake line relocate for the rear, carrier bearing drop, sway bar drop, bump stop ext front, spring bushings, diff drop.

    check, check, and check

Have carrier bearing drop incase I need it, I think I’m just going to toss the sway bar, shouldn’t need bump extensions with the icons, and I’ve heard the diff drops don’t really help angles and can cause lube issues.. hate lube issues

It’s a 74 2002 I got when I was 14 (23 now and it’s still not road ready..) I manual swapped with a getrag 245 and stripped it down and shaved all the trim and did all the body work and paint, now that I graduated college and got a big boy job hopefully I’ll finish it, if I can stop spending money on my tundra. I have a build thread on bmw2002faq

my manager was really on my back about the union allotted beer breaks, and really pushing the tennis ball breaks

    Broke the passenger speed sensor..
Broke one of the nuts welded in the frame for the sway bar.. good thing I didn’t buy extended end links
Theirs a good pile of rust that fell off of everything using the ugga and hackzall

It reminds me of one of those projects that is so fun to start but so much better to finish. Good luck. I hope it goes without any hiccups.

One could trim the piece a bit more or lay a fat bead with TIG and be happy/comfortable...it's ose enough to get perfected in my opinion...

I chose the wrong weekend to tackle this, the thermostat in my backyard (in the shade) peaked at 106°, pretty sure my shop was close to that.
My biggest struggle was keeping my sweat from dripping on my spindles and LCAs when I painted them. Didn’t make my Monday alignment appointment, still have to button up the front and do the rear (hopefully goes a lot smoother)
    upload_2021-6-29_21-23-23.jpg
sure does look a lot better, we’ll see how it handles Montana highways next week. Can’t wait to get it on the ground

For some reason my rubbing got significantly worse, think it’s the added caster with the UCA pushing the tire towards the rear. Going to raise it tomorrow and see if that helps

I might be having an off moment since it's currently 0150.... but "added" caster pushes the wheel forward, not rearward.

From my understanding it does when adjusting with the cam bolts (rears out fronts in) by moving the LCA ball joint forward but I think the icon UCA moves the upper ball (delta) joint rearward to add caster which moves the whole wheel towards the rear

Finally got it all done, went with option 2 on the leafs, bit of rake…
    upload_2021-7-2_8-58-30.jpg
@TXTundra2722 was right, it did move forward in the well (hadn’t checked the night before) and was rubbing on the bumper, before I could tell my brother I had bumper shims he was already going to town with his angle grinder
    upload_2021-7-2_9-0-52.jpg
now I have room for 37s though!
Here’s a before for side by side

will post more pictures after my alignment today and get it all loaded up, hopefully the rear comes down a bit

I’m stoked, drives nice. And finally looks proper height. Loading it up tomorrow with a bunch of gear for a week in Montana so we’ll see how much the rear lowers.

I think Firestone is using monkeys with pipe wrenches as their techs cause they did a number on my tie rods and left a mess of anti-seize all over the place. Tie rods are bottomed out and specs aren’t exactly where I want them but that’s a problem for later. Hopefully my tires survive

My tie rods were bottomed out too! I looked it up with ICON and you're supposed to cut 1/4 inch off of your tie rods. I did this and my alignment is right were I want it.
