Head unit bezel

Does anyone make a bezel that isn’t shiny af that goes around the head unit screen?

 

To make it look like this? Some people on here spend big $$ to replace the parts, but many of us sprayed them with a coating called SEM Trim Black. It is a coating that dries fast, does not have the lingering spray paint smell, and is very durable. My build thread has more pictures of everything that I have used it on. All you have to do is 4 or 5 light coats. No sanding or scuffing is necessary.

This was a serious consideration when I was in there with the dash all torn up blacking it out. It was gut-wrenching enough separating all the trim bits on the $800+ A/C controls to get them painted black, and I was just tired. Head Units being what they are, it'll likely be a risky and time consuming endeavor; but whether you have to find clips to pry up, detach plastic welds, or just turn a tiny screw or two, all of that stuff will come apart, and the SEM Trim Black @Tundra234 linked will get the job done for you. Please post pics and instructions - - or wait until fall and I probably will.

 

So for an aftermarket head unit? Then that’s a no. I’ve only seen the kits in crappy shiny black or crappy brushed aluminum.

 

Hmmm.... never noticed this being a problem. At least on my 2018 its not an issue. Haven't seen other posts about it from '21 owners either.
What's your issue with it being shiny? Is it reflecting the sun into your eyes like the chrome bits or you just don't like that it's shiny?

 

It reflects the sunlight like a mirror if it’s in the right spot. Right now I’m eating lunch in my truck and it’s right in my face.

 

Get some flat black or whatever color vinyl you prefer and wrap it....that's a easy mod. If you can't do it bring it to a vinyl guy.

 

+1 on the vinyl. I think AutoZone still carries it.
