Got a 1794 and upgrading the tires next week to duratracs. Not really interested in messing with the suspension, so I’m going to do stock size duratracs. Just curious if anyone has a photo of duratracs In 275/65R18.

Check the wheel/tire section on this site, lots of pics of different tires, wheels. However, most are installing larger than stock sizes.

So you know, you can fit 275/70-18 on a stock truck, stock wheels no issue whatsoever.

Here is a pic of someone running 275/70 duratracs on a stock truck

I went with 275/70r18 Duratracs and scored them for $200 each with a $80 gift card from Sams Club a few months ago. It’s only one size up and doesn’t impact the ride or suspension at all.

Well I’m not sure if I can switch the size now as I’ve already ordered them.

Your truck looks great and I have been debating in the duratracs in 275 70 18 as well. Is your suspension stock and do you have a side pic?

Here's mine with the stock suspension on 275/70 duratracs. No rubbing, but others said theirs rubbed at full lock.

Edit - I'm parked on a hill here, but it didn't make a big difference on how it sat

Sorry OP I don’t have any pictures but the stock size Duratracs will look excellent IMHO. Me personally I am done with going up sizes because in my experience larger tires changes (small in many cases) the characteristics of handling, braking, and acceleration. Larger tires look great and I really enjoy reading and looking at members trucks here.

You’ll be very happy especially if you use the truck daily…

“larger” tires like, 35’s maybe. 275/70r18 are less than an inch bigger than stock. You literally can’t tell the difference when driving, if anything getting rid of the shit stockers has made the truck handle much better.

@cuaround my truck suspension is 100% stock. I took off the little front mud flap because I like the look without it but it didn’t rub and could’ve stayed on. I don’t have any direct side shots, unfortunately.

I am sorry but I beg to differ…

I had a 2012 Tacoma that had very low mileage and I had it since it was new. I went one size up. The brakes acted very funny and while towing the transmission would gear hunt. And mind you I went to a Michelin Defender which was 3 pounds lighter than the stock size Nitto Terra Grappler I had on.

Yes above is only one example but I have had many lifted/larger than stock tire trucks. And this includes some of my family members.

Now with older models I agree, all that changes it mpg’s and height. We don’t realize how “intelligent” vehicles have become…Toyota trucks are not as archaic as everyone believes.

Weird, I had a 2018 Tacoma before my Tundra and went up exactly one size also. Made the handling characteristics of the truck so much better than stock.

There are absolutely certain times when a larger tire will be better. But physics are at play here. A larger tire weighting more requires more braking force due to leverage and weight. In all honesty heavier tires even require more force. Same goes for acceleration. In my experiences, I am of the opinion (have very little proof) that today’s vehicles are highly calibrated to what their stock form is. Meaning it’s more difficult, NOT impossible, to modify.

I play the conservative side because in theory I will encounter less headaches…
I loved having larger tires but things do change-some for the better some for the worst

My stock size duratracs. I think it looks good, much better than the factory tires. 215A3794-D4AB-41DD-912B-21572CA609AD.jpg
