Throw a 1" block on the rear and call it good...it's the cheapest option most likely.

Seems like a good idea. Any brand you can recommend? Seems like Readylift is everywhere but look cheap and not the greatest reviews.

You might need new u bolts but these are quality and cheap.

Agree with this suggestion...about $100 and some wrenching you're set. I have the Rancho block kit, and they are more expensive (but I got them as part of Ranchos rebate a while back).

I have been researching the add-a-leaf option for my 2015 but there is a simple question for which I can find no answer. After 5 years of almost all towing miles, my Tundra is starting to squat under a load - but fine when unhitched. I have not changed anything in my trailer so it is probably the springs aging. I do not tow over my hitch weight or payload capacity and I use a weight distribution hitch. My question is this: If I add a leaf, the truck will sit a little higher and the springs a little stronger so how will this affect my weight distribution? Will the rear axles then take most of the weight that the weight distribution hitch is trying to level out between front and rear axles? The object is to get everything level, truck and trailer. That is why I can see a problem with the added spring.

I did add a leaf and I am very disappointed. First of all, there is a lift in the back that I didn't really want. It is only 1.5 inches but that is at the axle. It seems to be much higher in the rear. I have to get my hitch adjusted and it is at the same setting as it was when the truck is new. So that means the truck is probably about 3 inches higher on the hitch than it was when it was new (have not changed trailer or hitch mount). Without the WDH the truck levels out. But I need the WDH to transfer some weight to the front (as per owner's manual).

The other issue is that when driving without a load the truck does not feel solid in behind. Wind makes it feel unstable, especially in curves. As to ride quality I can say that there is not really much difference. But I don't care about ride quality as much as stability and safety.

So it looks like I need new spring sets not just an "add a leaf" to get the truck to where it sat when new.

This is actually 1st gen - but it applies to all. Add a leaf give a little lift from the actual thickness of the spring but they greatly affect the leaf spring curvature and deflection rates.

If possible, go with air bag helpers. You can inflate them to level your truck with the load attached. Unloaded, they ride at ~5psi - so stock ride. These even worked great on my old Pathfinder which would sag under almost any weight.

Thank you. I am getting the extra spring removed this week. The hitch receiver height is indeed 3 inches higher than when the truck was new. It does not work with my hitch and trailer setup. Money lost. Oh well, lesson learned. I have taken my Tundra to the Toyota dealer for all servicing since I bought it new so I need to take it back and see what they can do for me, even if it is more money.
