I have a 2012 Tundra. I was replacing the rear shocks and snapped the lower bolt off trying to loosen the nut. I had the local Toyota dealer order a new bolt, but it won't be here until Monday. I'm wondering if anyone knows if the OEM bolt is a hardened Grade 8 type bolt, or not. I was able to pick up a bolt at a local hardware store with the same diameter and thread pitch so I can used the OEM nut, but the bolt is a Grade 5 type bolt. It looks like the torque specs for the lower shock bolt is 66ft lbs so not a high torque so I'm wondering if this Grade 5 bolt is sufficient to use until I get the OEM bolt from Toyota. Thanks.

It's probably fine, especially in the short term. It's a double shear bolt that's not load bearing. I wouldn't be surprised if the oem bolt was grade 5.
