Followup to this post where my Tundra ran out of gas even though the gauge said 1/4 tank.
My son and I flew out as I had to work today, and my wife and daughter are still driving cross country. She said the truck is fine but every now and then, like once an hour, it "misses" and her explanation was that it was like it was in neutral - no power. Then it clears.

Could this be the fuel pump control module that was referenced in the above thread?
Anything else? 120k service was just done and I have never felt this issue she is describing.

Could it be a transmission problem? Power is transferred through the transmission and if it feels like its going into neutral, then I would focus there...

Unlikely. Just had the whole thing serviced including transmission, "going into neutral" was my wife's description. Sound more like a cutting out of power to me.

Maybe I missed your truck’s details, but if it had the recall for “unintended acceleration”, AKA, pedal chop and reprogramming, or is a 2010+, a faulty / misadjusted brake switch or “two footing” the brake and throttle can cause the RPM to drop to idle regardless of throttle pedal position. There won’t be any check engine light coming on in this situation.

LED bulbs in any of the 3 brake lights, and / or a bad taillight ground can also do the same thing.

Truck is a 2007. It had all recalls including a pedal shim. I replaced the throttle pedal recently as I was unhappy with the jumpiness of the pedal, and used the revised part that has superceded.
I did recently replace the 3rd brake/bed light assembly with an aftermarket part but didn't notice any changes in running.
