It would pay just for piece of mind.. Loosen the nut on the upper control arm pivot bolt on each side. its the long bolt up near the engine and then lower the truck back down onto the ground and re torque them. This will set the OE rubber bushing in its neutral position rather than hold it at its factory position if it wasn't done during your install. Torque spec is 125 ft lbs but must be done with the truck at ride height.

Sorry newbie question here, but what does that mean 6112 assembled with “new hats”.

If you ordered 6112's "unassembled" you would need to remove the top hats off your original coilovers to assemble them. Although more expensive, buying them assembled makes for a quicker swap and your able to keep your original coilovers intact.

I plan on going 6112 highest setting and, if needed, a shim up front on the driver's side to account for lean. 5100s and +2 CB shackles for the rear. With a canopy I am hoping this will give me a 1/2 "or 3/4" rake and make room for big tires. I will also be running JBA UCAs. Hoping the ride is still enjoyable and the truck won't sit too high for the kiddos!

    I’d consider +3. I have 1/2” rake with +2 at 1.9 setting with one shim. Have a topper. F4BEAF88-4CDB-4EEA-A049-77299171CF9B.jpg

Thanks for the heads up. I have everything on order already but am waiting on the CB stuff. I wonder how much of a difference there would be with a CM too.

Good point. Didn’t think of that. Guess you’ll find out soon enough.

6112/5160. Ranchhand rear bumper and Valhallas Shields.
I put 6112's set at 1.9 with stock UCA and 5160 with stock rear height on at 115,xxx miles. The ride was Night and day, I got the kit installed on a Thursday and left on a 3200 mile road trip on Saturday. I've got a set of Coachbuilder 1" shackles and Freedom Offroad UCA's setting in the Garage waiting to be installed, I cant wait to install so we can go on another 3000+ mile road trip this fall.

I installed my 6112/5160 at 1.9” in the front and stock height in the back. I haven’t measured it, but it seems close to level. I would like to add 1” with rear shackles, but it isn’t a priority. I agree with others that the ride quality improved a lot. I had 240lbs of sand in the bed with the stock suspension to stop bed bounce and smooth out the ride. The 6112/5160 setup rides notably better than the stock did with sand, especially over rough roads, speed bumps, etc.

Did you add shims too in the front? I’m on the fence about it….. mine gets installed at 1.9 as well.

Here is mine with 6112’s. I think 1 shim added to balance weight of full 38 gallon tank.
