What was the top color options for 2020 TRD Pro?

Title says it all. Been trying to find out what was the color popularity for the 2020 TRD Pros? i.e 1. This color, 2. This color

Dealership has a white 2020 TRD Pro with little less then 8k miles on it and been trying to do some reasearch.

 

In 2020, the Pro was only available in Super White, plain black or Army Green. Not sure about what quantities of each

 

Not sure if this is true but I heard that an equal number of PROs are produced in each color and since they seem to be in high demand I don’t think there is one color that sold better than the others. For 2020 the special color was Army Green which I think looks awesome but I would be worried if I would like it after a few years.

 

I really like the specialty colors…voodoo blue, lunar rock, army green. But I too wonder if I would like it a few years down the road. I tell ya, the super white is blinding white. I really like that about it. Black looks freaking amazing when clean but hard as hell to keep clean. My wife had a pearl white sequoia. Yep t was really nice. A pro in that color would be nice. Another thought….. flat black. Heck yeah.

 

Wrong. The 2020 TRD Pro was also available in Magnetic Gray Metallic. I have one.

 

I didn’t think anyone wanted that color, so I did not include it. So sorry! lol

Yeah, I considered Work Truck White for about thirty seconds before deciding on a color instead of absence of color.

 

Was reading something like 83% of people by a vehicle based on the paint.

I mean - I get it, I personally refused to consider white for a single reason - every damn company driver for a certain industry back home has a white truck. It is literally a sea of white trucks in parking lots on weekends and I hated the thought.

I went black because that was the easiest and looked good.

To me white is the easiest to keep looking good - and looks nice with a few bits of red/black accessories. Green is a polarizing color - love or hate it. Blue is pretty widely accepted on trucks and black is a classic - but hot as hell in summer. MGM looks nice too - but silver is funny to me on a truck - you gotta go darker tints - light silver looks more passenger car.

I just wish people would quit thinking in xx number of years - a special color will be worth more - it’s a limited edition. No - just like a Subaru WRX - the special color editions are just marketing hype and not actual “value” - 20 years from now a whole new generation of hipster will have be judging you and your old man taste - having dismissed internal combustion completely in favor of batteries. Give it 40 and some retro adapters will seek them out - but by that point they will be restoring using new color change paint and the original color won’t matter.

 

Color matters a little bit to me when buying a new vehicle (which I have only done 3 times in my life) and I can actually choose.
But when buying used vehicles (7cars and 18 trucks over the last 50 years) I have a very tight list of specific qualifiers and color isn’t even on the list.

 

That's incorrect. White is the presence of all colors. Black is the absence of color.
But the only time I bought a vehicle based on color was my 98 Isuzu trooper. They had two identically equipped in stock one green, one blue. My wife said get the green because it matched the trim on the house

 

That's funny. I've owned three brand new Troopers over the years - 1986 (blue/silver w red pin stripes), 1989 (solid black) and a 1994 (champagne gold/silver). They were good trucks and I just recently sold my 1994 with 100,000 original miles on it about 6 months ago to make room in my driveway. I didn't need it anymore now that I have the Tundra. I could really care less about color, too. I mean there are certain colors that I think are hideous on any vehicle and I wouldn't have one if you gave it to me. But I've had cars, motorcycles, and boats of all different colors over the years and have enjoyed the diversity. I will say that black is a PITA to keep clean in a 4WD, especially if your tires have a little poke outside the fenders. Plus, they are solar heaters here in south Florida. They do look awesome when they are clean though. Don't tell @gosolo Ray but my wife drives a new Work Truck White Mercedes and loves it!

 

I loved the two Troopers I had. The first was an 88 that I bought new. In 98 it had a couple of minor issues that made me uncomfortable taking it on extended rough camping trips where we stayed far from actual roads or even trails. I bought a new 98 but kept the other until 2002 as a DD. I intended to get a new 2008, but found out they were just a Chevy Trailblazer by then. So I kept it until 2013 when it started having intermittent starter problems. Found out the hard way that you have to pull the engine to replace the starter.
So I traded it in for my 2013 Tundra.
Both Troopers had 200K+ miles on them when I got rid of them.

 

Us too! It kinda broke my heart to get rid of the ‘94 because overall it was in great shape and both of my kids had been brought up in it. We just used it for camping, kayaking and going to the beach. I bought my new Tundra because I will be retiring soon and I’m trying to get all my toys together before I quit making the “big bucks”. So the Trooper had to go to make room. It was getting ever harder to find parts in the U.S. but the truck never gave me much trouble. Just gas and oil changes basically. I still see lots of them in foreign countries in my travels with work and a few in the area where I live.

 

Yeah it was us, two kids and two dogs. We'd go places solo that if I had more sense we probably shouldn't have. But never a problem. Now it's just us and two dogs with the Tundra. I still need a cargo box on top. I guess when you get old you travel heavy.
One thing I don't miss is with the Trooper the 0 to 60 time was about 30 minutes.
Back on topic. My truck is 040, and I do need sunglasses to look at it. But it's not a pro. I have a friend that has an inferno pro and it looks great. After that, the voodoo blue is attractive.

 

I wanted a TRD Pro. But I was also looking at Limited and Platinum trims with the idea of doing a “TRD Faux” build. I was down to looking at what color I wanted, not being a fan of black or white and considering MGM but also liking the army green, cement, and cavalry blue colors.

Then I saw Lunar Rock… and there wasn’t anything you could do to convince to get anything but my Pro. So, yeah, ultimately I bought based on color.

Yeah, Super White is really WHITE. Pretty much everyone that comments on my truck says "Damn. That's a lot of white."
