The only real extra maintenance on a diesel is replacing fuel filters when you change the oil, plus the 3 gallons of oil these 6.7's all seem to hold. I do my own oil change and it's about $200.00 for the oil i use and 1 oil filter and 2 fuel filters. The added cost is worth it if you are towing. Yes the 800-1000 ft/lbs of tq is awesome, but I think the stability is what impressed me the most going from a Tundra to the Ram.

How much capacity do you have?

Holy hell!! I would be investing in a FASS or AirDog Lift pump, delete the factory filtration system.

I’m supposed to change my fuel filter every 22500 miles. I do the one at 15-17k miles

I might do the FASS pump for the CAT filters if I put the S&B 52 gallon fuel tank on this thing. Ram recommends Fuel filters every other oil change, but I change the fuel filters every oil change just for an expensive added peace of mind haha

Well, I wouldn’t call you crazy for keeping up on fuel filters. Injectors/fuel systems are some of the most expensive items to replace and can cause serious damage.

Something else that maybe everyone doesn’t know is how many miles you can go between oil changes. It’s pretty far on the Cummins.

I'll chime in here. I have a 2020 GD 2800BH with a 2019 Limited CM to haul it with.

It's doable and CAN be comfortable IF you are careful with your numbers.

Stock it towed fine with once I upgraded to 5100s all around. Dialing in the hitch at the scales was worth every penny and every second.

Switched to larger tires, added bags, and I'm still fine tuning it, but the loss in power makes.me debate if the 33.4" was worth the hit.

Nothing goes in the truck, trailer is close to max capacity with 45 gallons onboard. Tongue weight is adjusted to 10.2% distributed, 11.4% not, or about 840 and 960 respectively.

Will want the trans cooler, and I wouldnt want to go any longer, but very comfortable towing.

Generally speaking, if you want to tow bigger than 22'-24' LIGHT trailers, you're better off with a bigger truck. No half tons are really going to be more than a few hundred pounds ahead of the Tundra.

If you want to go diesel get a 1 ton, because the heavy engines smoke a 3/4 tons payload. You'll find yourself in pretty much the same boat otherwise.

You have to decide if you want the truck or the trailer more, then select the other to fit it.

If this thread taught me anything it's that I should be pulling my 19' Jayco Hummingbird with a Mack tri-axle road tractor with a 16 liter Volvo engine.

So you did get a new truck? I remember you had a thread saying how the tundra pulled that trailer just fine and you didn’t need a bigger truck.

Normally you can get well below msrp. I got close to 10% below, and there's there's detailed thread here somewhere indicating that 11.2% is where they'll eventually go (member has bought 18 as fleet vehicles). I am a pretty tame haggle, so I would believe it.

Right now, you will pay over MSRP. Mine (19 crew limited premium, 31k miles) is currently trading an average of $50k. I paid 43,500.

Or you could use the Viking war horse's on the land that you pillaged.
