I know the measurements are technically the same, but we all know manufacturers have slightly different specs.

Does anyone know which 295/70r18 typically runs the smallest?

I know Wildpeaks run larger. BFG, Cooper is nominal to a bit smaller in my experience.

Go to discounttire.com and look up the 295s you are considering. They will list the OD size. example below- there may only be a difference of a few tenths in size, but when you place the different tires next to each other or on the truck it can be noticeable. In reality however, any slight size difference is negligible, suggest you just get the tires you want and move on.

Get the tire you want. The sizes are all so close don’t split hairs. If you’re concerned on the size get 275/70’s

Just got the revo 3’s in 295/70r18 and the tread is actually slightly narrower than my old 285/65r18 coopers by about 1/4-1/2”. Every other aspect of tire is much larger. The coopers had a wide contact area for their size.
