    Hi guys,

My tundra has play on the drive shaft see YouTube link :

    https://youtube.com/shorts/RD19gb_IfsA?feature=share

also since I lifted the front and back I think the shaft has come out a little but in my opinion it now has to much play and a too big gap.

what do you guys think ?
I have no tundra to compare it too...

I went out to get a video for you and my transmission driveshaft looks nothing like that. You must have a 2x. AF2E422D-C90C-424D-913B-06C870439BB3.jpg

I have a 4wd too or I would look. Is this a two piece driveshaft with a center support bearing? If so, how is the center support bearing?

On most transmission, there is a bushing in the output housing.

Yes 2 piece drive shaft with a carrier bearing in the middle.
I already replaced the carrier bearing once , but it got damaged during wheel aligning I guess, so I ordered a new one.
What do you mean by there is a bushing in the output housing ?

Inside the extension housing at the rear of the transmission, just behind the rear output shaft seal, is a bushing. This bushing centers and supports the smooth outer surface of the driveshaft yoke. If it starts to wear, it will allow the yoke to move, side to side, like in the video. The only fix is to have this bushing replaced.

I think because of lifting and (changing the leaf springs by previous owner) the axle came out more from the gearbox and it’s now on the last end.

so I wonder am I the only one where the axle is out of the gearbox that far.

I think I need a drive shaft spacer like this :https://youtu.be/-_yy3hUIAwo

If it isn't too expensive, I would give it a shot. When you remove the driveshaft, you will be able to tell how much of the yoke is actually inside the tail housing.

Thanks for the reply. It’s a buzzing grinding noise, when I increase or decrease the accelerator. It’s starts around 30mph but gets louder the faster I go. It’s brief when it makes the noise, like something is spinning and being moved by the drivetrain when loaded and unloaded by the gas pedal.

No I didn’t figure it out, my centre support bearing is new OEM.

I have not been able to point out the part that is causing this on the parts catalog, I was hoping someone expierenced this before and points me in the right direction
