I have a 2007 Double Cab. Came across a new set of 18" TRD takeoffs with new Michelins from a 2020. Research showed that they would work fine (same bolt pattern and offset) and same TPMS sensors (315Mhz) and others are running them fine. They did not work for me. Tire shop was clueless, as was the Toyota dealer.

    What I learned...
The 2007-2018 trucks use TPMS sensors with an 8 digit (hex) ID.
The 2018+ trucks use TPMS sensors with a 7 digit (hex) ID.
Also, different sensors are used for steel vs alloy wheels (mine are correct for alloys, this is just a data point).

I verified in Techstream that the car is still seeing the old sensors. Tried updating to the new ones, no dice.
I then ordered a TPMS tool off Amazon (Autel TS508), which allows me to read the new sensors (and I verified the new sensors are 7 digit codes) but there is no way to program them to the truck, at least that I can find.

Seems like the only path is to swap sensors or disable TPMS? Are there any other tricks I may have missed here?

From what I have read, the 2020 sensors will not work on the 2nd gen trucks.

You need sensors for an 07. Pretty self explanatory.
