What do you guys think of the lifespan of the transmission? My engine has 315k, under normal wear, do these transmissions hold up over time or can I expect a rebuild at some point?

Good question. IIRC, the guy who went a million miles in his 4.7L Tundra supposedly only had one transmission rebuild. I don't know if he had the exact same tranny as the 05-06 Tundra V8 though.

With good fluid changes and minimal towing I bet it's quite a bit more than 300k. I'm at 320k and still going strong with nice clean red trans juice in there.

356K on mine and no issues. Not sure of the service made by previous owner. I haven't gotten around to trans fluid change yet but on the list. Looks good on the dipstick.

My thoughts exactly. These are robust transmissions, so it's quite possible to see this trans live a long healthy life just with regular fluid changes and minimal towing.

There are 2 transmissions. They are not the same. What are we talking about here?

Both are great and will go way over 300k, 2000-2002 just don't tow in overdrive.
