So I just did my Total Chaos steering rack bushings on my 03. Took it for a drive today and noticed that now my steering wheel is about a 1/2- 3/4" off now from being center. I had an alignment done when I had my wheels and tires put on and had my Kings recharged. Is this normal? When I took out my old steering rack bushings they didn't look too bad they were actually acceptable the horizontal driver side was starting to come apart. Thx

Hmm don’t see how the bushings would do that. Did you disconnect the steering shaft or replace tie rods or anything?

On my sequoia the loose rack bushings allow the rack to walk back and forth 1/2” or so. Maybe the alignment show compensated, so with new bushings it put the rack back where its supposed to be?

If it was aligned with the slop in the bushings, it's possible the wheel was slightly off center when the toe was adjusted, which now that the rack is solidly mounted it needs realigned.
