I found a set of used UCAs from a local guy over the weekend for cheap - $40 for the set. I didn’t know much about them, and neither did the seller as he bought them second hand as well. I found out they’re a relatively cheap set of Tuff Country control arms. They also need new bushings and ball joints, and probably a coat of paint or new powdercoat.

My question is this - is it worth rebuilding or refurbishing these? I think I can get the new parts for about $150, so I’d be into the set for under $200. Once I add a little more lift to the front of my truck, I could probably use these to help with alignment. Or should I just cut bait on these and get some SPCs or Icons if/when I need them?

The bushings are easy, but the joints might not be fun if you don’t have all the tools and a press

I can get the press from autozone, already had to use that for my leaf springs. I watched a couple videos and it didn’t look terrible, plus I plan on doing these off the truck so there’s no rush on getting the ball joints out and in.

No. I had them. No. Total Chaos or Icon with adjustable heims is the best option.

Cool, they’ll go to the recycling center with the OEM UCAs no one wants either, lol. I’ve read a lot of mixed reviews and definitely wouldn’t spend real money on them.

Camburg Kinetiks are another adjustable heim option as well, loving mine!
