I have searched the forum and I am unable to come up with an answer for this question.
Has anybody figured out how to change the centre console cover on a 2010, 2nd generation tundra to the wireless charger version offered in later models?

No, lids are not swappable from 2nd to 3rd. What I plan to do is when I reupholster my seats, I plan on removing the lid and installing a wireless charging unit fixed to the lid. Then have the shop cut new foam for the lid and make it all nice. Plan is to do this sometime next year. I think you would have to swap the whole dash and console to get that 3rd gen lid in a 2nd gen. When I decide to do this I'll post pic's and stuff so that others can see. Just not a high priority right now, but I have had this idea for a few years.

As stated above the 2nd and 3rd gen console lids are a different shape. The console is actually 2 pieces, a front half and a rear half. It splits in between the front of the lid and the shifter/cupholders.

My 2007 currently has a 2015 console in it and I will be adding the wireless charger soon but I also have a full 2015 dash in my truck.

The new console will bolt right in place of the old ones however the front half will not fit well to the older dash. I don't think you could use an older front half with a newer rear half (lid/storage). I am not sure they would match up well in the middle.
