I'm about to order a complete set of the Bilstein 5100s for my 21 sr5. I'm getting 2 inch rear shackles because I like the rake and basically want to raise the entire truck 2 inches. What I'm interested in is if I'm better off going the full lift on the front shocks or going on the middle setting and adding the coach builder 1/2 inch shims to achieve the 2 inches in the front? I've read that keeping it in the middle setting helps with ride.

If it helps at all, I have my 5100s set at top setting which provides a perfect level. I did not want any type of shim or spacer and wanted a perfect leveled truck as I do not tow with it. The ride is stiffer however I prefer a stiffer ride.

I want a stiffer ride. It is the basic sr5 model without the off-road package and it floats alot on the highway. I've read that the highest setting rides harsh sometimes but that may just be personal opinion. I'm going with standard load tires also instead of d or e load range so I'm hoping that'll add to the ride.
