I have an 07 Tundra and I was playing with the passenger side blend motor that controls the hot/cold temp for the passenger side. Long story short I accidently shorted the BUS lines and blew the 7.5 Amp fuse.

Prior to knowing the fuse was blown I tried switching out the AC amplifier and some other things.

I have replaced the fuse and everything seems to be working except that air is no longer cold. The vents will cycle like they should, when I turn it to hot the air gets really warm from the vents, when I turn it to cold best I get is room temp air/ not cold air.

In the AC section of Techstream you can see live data from the Temp sensor on the Evaporator in the box. When mine was cold/working this temp was like 45 degrees. Now that it is broken the temp is 85 degrees and never drops.

Why is my Evap not getting cold and making cold air? The compressor/clutch looks to be turning on the engine. The Freon did not all instantly leak out, the system is charged.

I think either a blend door is stuck letting hot air from the heater core on to the Evap (not sure what the doors in the HVAC unit look like) OR I have an electrical problem and the clutch compressor is not fully engaging.

I might jump the clutch relay on the compressor so I know for sure it is forced to engage. If I still dont get a cold temp on the evaporator I am not sure what the problem is.

    Any ideas?

False alarm, also I am an idiot. Somehow while putting my AC gauges on, I guess I let some Freon leak out of the system. Just enough to not engage the compressor obviously.

After playing with the gears and doors in the HVAC box under the dash I finally realized the only way the evaporator is not getting cold is because the compressor is not moving Freon through it.

I jumped the clutch relay, no change. The relay was fine and working properly. I put the gauges back on the AC system and was low on pressure so I added some Freon and it is now fixed and working right. I just hope I didn't somehow create a leak in the system. We will see in a few weeks I guess.

I created my own problem by not paying attention and being in a hurry. Anyway all fixed now. Anyone reading this a laptop with Techsteam is a good way to see how well your AC system is working by watching the live data from the thermistor on the AC evaporator. Ambient temp in my garage was about 85 degrees and my Evap temp was down to 46 degrees. On full cold AC with the recirculate air going it will almost freeze you out of the truck.
