After 2 months and about 2 weeks of waiting for the cats, I finally picked up the truck today and I slapped on both plates from Tyler on there. Good thing I didn't need the 5/8 bolts as I have a TRD plate because I was shorted a nut. Otherwise I would have swore Tyler all the way to lowes. Thanks again Tyler

I didn't have time to read all 33 pages of posts on this so perhaps this was asked and answered already:

Has anyone contacted an insurance carrier (not an agent) to see if there is any interest in underwriting some of the cost for owners to install these cat anti-theft plates. The cost of the plates seems to be approximately 10% of replacement cost if the cats have to be replaced with a claim on insurance. I don't know what percentage of owners have had their cats are stolen (or will have them stolen in the future), but a subsidy at some level by insurance carriers could save money for them and aggravation for us.

In boating, most insurers will pay 50% of the cost to haul your boat out of the water if there is a 'named storm' (hurricane). It saves them much more to do that than to pay expensive claims for hurricane damage. This is similar to that.

Tyler, have you contacted any insurers to inquire about this? If insurers were willing to subsidize a portion of the cost for their customers, your orders might see a large increase.

Once I installed mine, I was planning to call my insurance agent to ask if there was at least a discount to my insurance

Interesting idea, I would be curious if there would be a discount. Please keep the thread updated

As for the BDS lifts, it has rained and rained and rained here in the Houston area, it finally stopped yesterday, I am expecting to be pretty busy with the 69 plates I am picking up tomorrow afternoon, but I have a volunteer to deal with me poking around their truck making an adapter. I just wish rough country didn’t have to make the same lift twice with different skid plates...

Awesome, glad you're gonna be looking at the BDS lifts. They come with a skid. I haven't been under my truck in a little while so I don't know if my BDS skid would get in the way of your front skid. I hope the guy you have coming over has his BDS skid installed to answer that question.

Finally installed my plates and i gotta say... it was kind of a pain to install. More just getting to the nut on the top side. Its definitely is not a recommended 1 man job, but that's what I have my 2 sons for! So it turned into a 3 man job. Haha
I love the way they came out. People worry about the bolts, but considering how much effort it took to install. It would take just as much to remove. So I'm definitely not worried about the hardware.

It is a PITA (not impossible) to tighten up the bolts at the back of the PRO plate

I am really hoping it is easier to tighten the bolts an the back of the Valhalla engine skid with the front cat/transmission plate. Will let you know how it goes in 2-3 weeks.

Yeah definitely a pain in the butt, but with some leverage physics and my impact. I was able to tighten them down.

Also, I had these 4 square plates and wasnt totally sure what to do with them.

One of each thickness goes on each side. You have to remove the small skid that is on the bottom of the differential as well. I beleive @Classy63 posted photos of where the plates go.

See post #890 for the contact if you do not remove the small skid plate and use the spacers.
