Looking to get a truck cover for bed of 2020 Trd crewmax. Any suggestions? Has anyone heard anything about Bakflip?

I have the Undercover UltraFlex on my 2020 which is extremely similar. It is the trifold and it performs fine but I wish I had spent the extra money and purchased the DiamondBack. I have the Leer on my 2008. I am thinking of selling the UltraFlex and getting the DiamondBack in which case someone will get a great deal on a cover with only 1100 miles.

[Edited to correct names for Undercover]

I'm not a fan of bakflip - hated when it froze my tailgate shut all the time in the winter. All depends on what your priorities are in a cover - security go Diamondback, keeping dirt/leaves out go cheap roll up, don't mind a canister taking up space in the front then retractable are decent.

My top 2 choices would be Diamondback; have that currently and have no issues other than its costly; and aluminum roll up - haven't had one yet so can't recommend a brand at this time. Like the idea of the quick roll up when needing the bed and having the aluminum frame is decent for security.

I have the Cap-it version of the Bakflip. Looks nice, very low profile. Functions well in warm weather. Very convenient for folding up and away. However monumentally frustrated when the flange freezes to the tailgate, as well as the release mech freezing up. It also has a number of weak points in the strut system and release mechanism. Will be replacing mine soon, going to try the Extang solid 2.0.

Does the under over SE work well. That is another one I was considering. We travel a lot. Will it keep the weather out. Do they help with aerodynamics. Wind noise?

I like it. It keeps everything dry. It hangs over the bed rails and tailgate so that greatly reduces any chance of water entry. Yes is does help with aerodynamics. I don't like any of the folding covers or the way that they seal between panels.

I had the Under Cover Ultra Flex. Liked it a lot. Really flush against bed rails.

Throwing in the Diamondback vote here.

You can haul 400 pounds strapped to the SE, totally secure, watertight...

You can haul over 1000 pounds on the HD.

I cried once, and have been crazy happy with my SE...

Undercover and Bakflip are both owned by the same company now. I corrected my post to reflect that I have the Undercover. Works well, keeps out water, looks nice - just not as nice as the Diamondback.

Another vote for the Diamondback. I have the SE with crossover bin like this one. I had Diamondback install extra cleats on it. This is one of my favorite additions on the truck.

I have had the Undercover and think it is a great product at a fair price.
I got mine used for a really fair price and have nothing bad to say about mine at all!

I got the truck I have now with a pricey color matched ARE Fiberglass Lid and that thing is an annoying and heavy pain in the ass and I need more space than that anyway so I use a Shell now and always end up with a shell in the end.

I bought a UC Classic for my Dodge 1500 back in 2005. I was very happy with it until I got rid of the truck last year. It was very durable and it did everything I wanted it to. Bought my 2020 Tundra and the first bed cover I looked at was UC. It was apparent the quality had changed in their line-up, and not for the better. I bought a DiamondBack HD (after much personal debate due to cost) and so far (10 months or so), I've been pretty impressed by it.

That all said, the DB is very pricey. You have to consider all your options, how much you want to spend, and most importantly what you realistically want out of a bed cover. I wanted a secure bed cover that had a good warranty, kept water out of the bed and that could withstand putting loads on. Just today, I drove from NE KS to Texarkana in some pretty heavy rain and wind. Opened the tailgate a few hours ago to get our bags out to check-in at the hotel and there wasn't a drop of water back there. I have some fairly expensive things locked in there for the night and I'm not too concerned.

If you have time and patience, the DB’s do wind up on Craigslist from time to time, and DB does sell “blemished” units at a reduced cost, they still guarantee them.
