bad guys are cutting catalytic-converters off toyotas so fast, you can't leave it parked anywhere. I'm looking for recommendations to buy DIY skid plates to protect 2 converters in front and 1 in the rear for 2000 tundra, V8 TRD 4WD, ext cab, no mods.

    Alot of them
For a 2000 you would have to get with a local metal fabrication shop. Tyler's plates are for 2007 - 2021.

Anyone installed one of those plates from Pod 6, above?

Had my catalytic converter stolen last night, only 4 days after buying my new-to-me 2001 Tundra TRD. So bummed. Thankfully they only got one side. My shop quoted me $1,200 for the replacement. Fingers crossed my insurance will cover it and I'll only be out my deductible plus the cost of that skid plate. Money well spent I suppose, but was hoping to put it into some new suspension and a new stereo.

I might have to do a DIY skid plate for my '05. I saw someone on another forum use a stop sign as a skid plate. lol

I'm also needing a cat shield, but Skid Row says not for lifted Tundras with modified subframe (me), and also torsion bars from RCD lift get in the way of subframe mounts.
Has anyone had a custom plate made and how much cost for the work?
Does anyone know of a pre-fab shield that works with their dropped subframe or Torsion bars on a 6" lifted tundra?

there should be 4 cats, 2 on each side. That single 'in the rear' might be a resonator, unless california trucks are different.

    oops, old thread.
