    Hi all!
I'm looking to plasti-dip (or similar) the grille and hood-bulge on my 2016 SR5, just got the truck last week and just wish we had matte black accents. She's a black truck and I'm going after that black, black and black look. So, anyways, I've watched some videos on removing these parts, and though it seems simple enough... mine aren't just "popping" out (yup, removed screws) like the folks on videos. While thinking about it, I realized all the videos I could find were people "replacing" these parts and I became concerned they wouldn't be easy/possible to re-install? (Worried about those plastic clip/pin things breaking upon removal)
I'm not against masking and spraying them on the truck, but likewise I can't really come up with a good way to mask the radiator/interior etc...
Anyone done this project? Any tips or suggestions?
Any thoughts at all are greatly appreciated!
    Thanks!!

I had mine off like 4 different times. just give it a good tug. will come apart no problem.
my bulge was chrome and surround was white. I painted but originally was plastidipped black

Thanks, all!! I am, of course, very excited to be a Tundra owner! I think I really found a great one, she's only got 94K miles and clean, thourogh service records. I'm looking forward to many camping trips!
If folks are interested, I'll post pics of my "camper" build-out and all the other lil things we'll be doing (or hope to do!!)

NSV is the bolt on bar that fits without modification but it is expensive and they haven't completed the switch panel for the 2020's yet.

It looked a little different than the NSV in the picture, was hoping a cheaper version and yeah I see it’s not on market for my 2020 yet…maybe one day…

The Grille takes much more force and is a little more work to remove than the bulge. The bulge should pop off easily.

Be sure to reach down for the Grille removal and pop the lower clips (I think they talk about them in the video above). Once you do that, it's much easier and less likely you'll snap any clips.

I've had mine off a few times to do headlight bulbs as well as DIY Spray Bed Liner the grille and bulge in black.

Thanks all! Thx Tundra234 for the link...
Appreciate all the tips and warm welcome!
Finished the hood bulge last night, but darkness and wind made me wait for the grille. Hoping to get it done today.20210521_082513.jpg 20210521_082426.jpg 20210521_082513.jpg 20210521_082426.jpg 20210521_082434.jpg
