I purchased these the other day and I'm wondering if the heat from the heat sinks will be too much for the dust covers? I don't want to burn up my factory harnesses or housings.

    High and low beam
    No fans
    Oem housings.

should really go to headlight revolution and buy from them. Most of the led headlights they sell, they offer lifetime warranties. Good informational videos on their site also.

I have that exact same kit and I have no issues with anything warping or any signs of heat from the stock housings. It does not show up in any of their listing pictures but the lights come with about a 6in extension of wire with a load resister inline so any heat would melt its own harness before it gets anywhere near the stock harness.

    Good to know. Thanks!

How do they perform? Any dark spots or weird patterns?

I have found that they spread really well and there are no dark spots out away from the truck but the shape of the bulb leaves dark spots close in front of the bumper. I also bought fog lights from them so it is basically a non-issue for me. For me, they also maintained a well-defined cutoff so hopefully that is true for you as well.

There are tons of info from that OP all over TW about that. Literally could read for days.

Yes, technology has advanced tons, however the design behind a halogen headlight housing vs a headlight designed with integrated LED’s still applies to the present

From my understanding the LED bulbs produce a lot less heat than the halogen bulbs. The fans and heat sinks are due to the fact that chips in the LED lights are very sensitive to light so they have to dissipate out that heat, but the overall heat should be much less than what you are replacing so you should be just fine.

I did a bunch more reading and I have to agree with him. The shape of the housing is designed for cylindrical light output, not 2d chips so the reflection isn't optimized.

The GTR Lighting LED HL's I got from HLR are tons brighter than the dull offwhite halogens I replaced. I will be keeping them in my stock HL housings. Required a lot of adjustment on my end, and I'm well aware of the beam scatter, but I'm happy with the result.
