Pics of mystery frame part - snapped sway bar mount?

Hi, New to forums and new to me 2005 tundra 4wd access cab with the 4.7 and only 130k on clock
I thought I did through inspection but I seriously missed some big rust issues.
The frame seems 90% solid with just surface rust but this piece in particular is bad and not sure how it can be replaced, so looking for help from forums please.
    I think it’s a sway bar mount bracket ? part number 515910c020?
Need to find a way to get that welded on so I can get a sway bar bushing to attach. Car drives stable and well at high speeds but did notice front tire wear on inside edge

You will likely need to replace a section (or sections) of that frame.

You can get a new bracket and replace it, but you'll still have a huge rust hole above it and the forces from the sway bar will probably just snap that section of frame off.

Sway bar shouldn't affect tire wear.

I'd get the professionals involved and see if the frame is repairable.

i remember old wrangler i had you could buy after patch sleeves that would go over the existing frame - they dont sell that for our trucks? rest of the frame is totally solid it really is just a few wear points like this which are super bad

Most the frame looks like this with just mild surface rust. I do plan to hit it with por 15 in the fall when I have these issues resolved

Might as well shore up the Trans Cross Bar and look back around the rear frame overlap just in front of the rear wheels. Go ahead and knock it all out at one time. After repairs, squirt the shit out of your frame with Oil. Drench it everywhere inside and out. Let it soak in and repeat especially up in the boxed frame portion where you’ve the gnar gnar.

Uh, your crossmember mount is rusted through at the frame as well. POR 15 isn't going to fix any of that.

Should be able to buy a used frame from CPO or someone like that, you'd be way better off in time and money, not to mention the final results.

Somebody found a few frame replacement pieces, but I don't remember who or where. You'd still need a good welder which is where I'd start.

your definition of surface rust is being very generous... That truck would be a huge no-go for most.

I love how everyone on these posts has a virgin frame and can tell the entire frame is rusted in a few pictures and thinks I should just trash the truck... great advice. Think I’ll just replace the one trouble spot and move on with my life and I guess getting any help from these forums

I think the message here is that the pictures you shared of your frame are alarming. You have rot clear through the frame rail. Patching the frame is less than ideal as the frame will not handle the same structural loads as pre patch. You have the full picture and can see what you're dealing with and what your plans are for the truck. I would not drive small children or loved ones around in a truck with frame rails that looked like that. IT's not a personal attack, it's an assessment of what we're looking at. What would you weld a patch to? If you're able to cut away enough of the rusty rot to get clean metal and are comfortable with what the patch will achieve, go for it. The weld will rust. The patch will rust. Need a rust be gone or at least a rust be stopped plan. Best of luck sir, there are several rust abatement and frame repair / replacement threads here.

Eddie, no need to get defensive. You asked for advice and help from this forum, and that's exactly what you got. The fact that you don't like the answers aren't anyone's problem but yours. People here are very knowledgeable, and never sugarcoat anything, especially when it comes to safety. I personally wouldn't let anyone I care for, drive that, or be driven in it until it got a total inspection and a green light from a qualified shop that does frame inspections/repair. Good luck to you.

Not defensive just have zero interest in wasting time with guys saying things like I wouldn’t drive anyone I care about in that truck ( that’s not helpful and doesn’t move ball forward ) I listed a specific part number that I was looking for confirmation. The gifs and memes are not helpful and have to say I’m just getting a vibe from this board that it’s more about shitting on others to feel better or play gotcha... well congrats I def won’t be frequenting this site for answers

the piece that is rusted off is not replaceable separate from Toyota. the reason your frame appears to have less surface rust is because someone has coated it. Sadly, the frame on that truck is past its useable life and needs some serious repair work done or replacement

depending on where you bought it from, there may be state laws that protect you, as it sits, this vehicle would be deemed undriveable in most states with inspections.

You obviously missed or disregarded the intention of my post. You can stick your head in the sand and say all is well, but it isn't. Blaming people here for giving you an honest assessment and thinking they somehow enjoy telling you this bad news is completely delusional. The truth is painful sometimes, how you take the truth is on you, and you alone.

The first stage of grief is denial. I understand that you purchased someone else's problem, failed to see the overall frame rot and it is now yours. Being invested in something may cloud your ability to look at the situation objectively. The people (active) on this forum take pride in their trucks and come here to learn how to keep them in proper working order, and/or modify them properly based on the experience of others that have modded and repaired before them. You're original post did not include the information " I don't care if it's dangerous or if my frame is beyond saving, I just want to weld a bunch of patches to it so it looks better and my sway bar doesn't hang in the breeze." If you had included that information, we would have understood you're intentions, and likely not replied to your thread as we would have had nothing to add. We all assumed you were seeking advise for a problem you didn't fully understand. The section of frame you showed us is F@cked, and is likely indicative of the overall condition of the frame and related components (as evidenced by the patches already present and the daylight peeking through some of the seams). That frame would have been replaced under the campaign if it was in that condition. It likely got coated instead, leading to it's current state of demise. Good luck to you sir, I'm sorry you got into the situation you're in.

Yeah. You are correct. You missed some big issues. Beyond repair. Maybe a frame shop can repair it. Does this help to repeat whats already been said? I have an English Accent so that helps sooth bad news where another accent would not.

We've seen a ton of rusted out frames come through here. We're pretty good at knowing how the entire frame looks from just a few pics. We have an entire thread up in the stickies devoted just to frame rot. So yes, we can tell from just a few pics how the entire frame is.

As for the jokes and memes, that's just what we do here. We kid. We have fun. Not at your expense, but with you. We'd love for you to stay and hang out with us as we work through your frame issues.

Now for your problem, iirc someone had made a bunch of plates and welded patches on their frame. I don't remember who exactly; it may be up in the frame stickies. As for kits like the wrangler, not such animal exists.
