Hi folks, my steering wheel, or some part behind it, occasionally squeaks when being turned. It's not a groan, not a grinding sound, it's definitely what I would describe as a faint squeaking noise. But definitely noticeable. It doesn't seem to be coming from the suspension as far as I can tell (opening the window while turning wheel, the sound still comes from inside the cab around the steering wheel while I can't hear anything from outside the window).

Any suggestions on what is causing the squeaking? I searched the forum and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

This seems to be a commonality with Toyotas. That seal where the steering shaft goes through the fire wall tends to get dry and make noise. I had an RX300 that made noise, so about twice a year I’d spray silicone down around the seal and it would quiet it down.
My LS430 is in the same boat and my sister’s 2012 Camry as well…

    I’d start there..

Yep, all the above is correct. We had the squeak when turning every time.
Was expecting to replace the seal but it was in good condition, just dry.
Silicone spray and it's been smooth and quiet since.
