Sorry for another wheel/tire thread, but I found what looks to be a sweet deal on these and what to jump on it while I can.

My truck came with 16" wheels - will I have any problem with the jump to 17"? Rubbing or odd angles? Honestly wasn't planning on it but I'm looking for new or like new OEM Toyotas and these are far and away my favorite wheels I've found for this truck. It says here they should but just want to make sure this matches with people's experiences.

Looking to keep stock setup- most I would do is add Bilstein 5100s although right now I'm leaning towards 4600.

Not looking for huge tires or anything - whatever would fit, really. Right now these would be for my winter tires (~6 months here) because I'm not getting rid of my 16" tires with 80% of their tread left.

I said what the hell and took the plunge - figure if they don't work for me someone else will want them.

If anyone is looking for wheels, Leith Toyota in Raleigh, NC has the best prices I could find for these and others (I checked just about every dealer on parts.toyota.com) and wheels are eligible for the $200 off shipping promo going on through May. They beat the next best price by $25 a wheel for these, and shipped to my door they'll be $200 cheaper than I was able to find them anywhere else online.

That’s an amazing price for a genuine Toyota part. Right down the road from time too, 6 months too late lol!

I paid more for the wheels but shipping was free...nice find with the coupon! They are great wheels, about 3 1/2 lbs lighter than stock 17s. In terms of your strut choice, the 5100s are a little more flexible if you want to go slightly larger with tires (I have mine up one notch in front or 3/4") and I have LT245x75x17 tires which are about an inch larger in diameter compared to stock. I went with skinny tires to minimize the hit on gas mileage. Otherwise, either Bilstein is a great upgrade.

By the way, at my Costco they preferred using their own TPMS sensor because they said they would not be responsible if you brought your own sensors (I had bought Densos) and they could not program them to work. I have had no problem with whatever Costco used...

Nice! I have the same truck just a 2006 and no sunroof and that's the exact look I'm going for with these wheels. Usually I don't spend much on vehicle aesthetics but I barely could have gotten black steelies cheaper and I don't really like anything coming off the new Tacomas at all. Love the matte look of these and think the red TRD really makes the gray on gray work. Although I might have to get red TRD decals now...

Do you think yours would work with the Bilstein 4600s? Honestly where I'm leaning but probably don't need them for a little bit so we'll see which route I go. Also thinking of just not using TPMS and disabling the light since my light is on all the time right now anyways.

Are you looking to reuse your stock coils, if so you'll be at stock ride height. You can use longer coils to get a lift from the 4600, but no lift with stock coils.

Yeah I'm honestly looking to stay at stock height if I can. The 5100s would really only be if I needed to make a tiny bit of room.

My truck had the 5100s when I bought it. It was lifted 2.25" in front and I had it lowered 2 notches because I prefer a rake front to back, plus without any other front end mods it didn't handle the way I wanted.

I would say if you don't plan on using tires larger than what I have (245x75x17, 265x70x17, 265x75x16, etc...) which is up to 1 inch in diameter larger than OEM and you like the way it sits I would say yes to the 4600s.
