steering wheel controls work on 2014 HU but not 2018 HU

Hello,

2014 DC non-JBL with center speaker

I wanted Navigation and the OEM look. I have a non JBL, no nav unit and I replaced it with a non JBL nav unit from a 2018. Ive lost the fast forward, reverse, and center selection button operation on the steering wheel. is there a setting someplace I'm missing? the track fwd and back work, odd that 2 positions work and the other 3 don't on the same assembly. do I need to find a 2014 no nav non-bbl unit?

I put my old unit back in and all of the operations return..im assuming its the radio or some setting im missing. any ideas?

The wiring in 2018 changed substantially because of the addition of the TSS, including all the new buttons on the steering wheel.

you’ll need to download the EWDs for your 2014 and for the 2018 and compare the wiring pin-outs and routing to determine what you might need to change to get that all working. The wiring diagrams are linked in my signature.

alternately, you could seek out a head unit from 2014-2017. I would expect those to be much more of a direct swap. You’ll likely also need to add a GPS antenna if you haven’t already. Those EWDs will help you understand exactly what is part of each system and what you might need to add

 

Dang, thank you, you're right. Steering Pad switch 14-15 good to go. 16 forward..not compatible with 14-15.
