Haha. I know I know... I was thinkin it sounded like one as I typed it.

 

This right here embodies 3/4 of why I quit all meat back in 1995.

The MS stuff isn't so bad...even better if compared to the offerings from last century. The Impossible stuff is sometimes tough for me to enjoy because it raises too many red flags [in my mind] that it's actually beef.

We don't really dislike carnivores/omnivores either.
The allure (if you will) of false meats is to not disrupt the lives of our friends and families whilst retaining some of the nostalgia of eating from before giving it up.
Veg's that are raised veg often don't eat meat substitutes. This is because their parents don't eat meat and their diet isn't a disruption to the household. When I quit meat, I had a hell of a time explaining to my parents that it would require nothing extra on their part aside from some variety of meat substitute. The rest of the meals would remain unchanged....provided there were no meat ingredients. (no bacon in green beans, no pork in baked beans, no chicken stock in soup, etc) I ate what everyone else ate, but instead of a burger, I had a veggie burger. It put both of my parents at ease.


No one likes freegans. People who conscientiously object to meat would never eat in a way that would contribute to the demise of an animal, regardless of who foots the bill.

Also, my new Sprewells showed up last night. Too bad I've made myself a deal that they go on last after all the chassis bits have been refreshed...and my UCAs are on backorder for 6 weeks.

 

My wife is vegan and I don't even like mentioning it because of the immediate judgment. Her dad acted as though she had just come out of the closet when she told him.

But the reason she eats fake meats is for the protein. Those plant based patties have 20g protein and they taste like a real burger. In a few more years I think we can possibly fool some meat lovers in a blind taste test. Some of the other fake meats are horrible though.

 

Reminds me of a joke this guy I watch says... It's a joke, so take it as such. I can tell this joke because I'm 1/1064th vegan and I love dogs.

How do you know when someone's a vegan? They tell you.

Needs a Tundra steering wheel mounted to the side as a pushbar. Working horn would be a nice add. LED headlights (task lights) if you get really bored.

 

The horn is good. You could sell it as a safety measure if anyone protested.
The other stuff are steps too far for me.
Maybe a yellow, rotating, safety light...

 

Well he has to push it - so steering wheel for warm fuzzy hand input of things pleasant while at work.
LED lights because he enjoys working with them.

If he's after some 'warm fuzzy hand input of things pleasant', I suggest ditching that steering wheel for some bewbs...with a tasteful sweater/cardigan for fuzz.

I know it isn't easy to be vegan, there is so much to avoid. I know I couldn't do it.

I have a niece who is 14 and tried to go vegan, pretty close to impossible because she's Filipina and her family has parties every month with piles of meat. She eventually went the pescatarian route as a compromise. I started asking her a lot of questions because to me most who avoid eating meat are doing it for the animals. My informal interview took place at a Korean BBQ, the all you can eat kind where you cook it yourself and still tip for some reason.

Her mom asked if we can cook her food first to avoid contamination, I agreed to that even though I hate seafood. They brought out 3 octopus... octopuses... octopi? I threw them on the grill and they started moving as if they were still alive and tryingto escape. I thought it would be a disturbing sight but she watched and waited with no expression.

So I asked why is it okay to eat fish but not red meat? Her response surprised me, especially considering she's a very fit 14 year old. She said she didn't give up "real meat" for the animals, she gave it up because heart conditions and cholesterol run in her family. I cooked her food, uneasy about knowing when it is done. When I piled on my beef and the cloud of steam surrounded us I asked her if thats offensive or gross to her. She said no, its normal. I asked if she gets hungry when she smells beef, she said sometimes. She doesn't think its gross, its just too unhealthy to eat.

I'll give her credit. Although I disagree with damn near everything else she thinks, she is ahead of the game on health. I have high cholesterol and have been sparing the beef for 2 or 3 times per month for a few years. Shes doing something I wish I started doing at her age.

 

You'll have to settle for Subaru or Honda wheel because we assemble those and there is plenty of scrap to be had for free.99!

Although I really enjoy led lighting, there isn't a need for such items inside the Faraday cage.

Working horn would be cool for sure, but would be tricky as hell for power. I'm already at max capacity on space. I need a rollaround upgrade, but can't find any I like that are tall.

This tool box suits me fine as far as capacity, but not height. I'm 6'2, and that's pushing 4'2~ish after I added a 2 inch lift 3 years ago.

I'll measure it tonight.

Strobe light would be cool, but I think a go-cart flag would be more efficient use of space as most of our machines are tall.

 

I would just like to point out that soy is a travesty. It also has not really been eaten in a non fermented form for very much of human history.

I picked up a friend on my commute home. Drove her around to some scenic areas. Talked. Hung out.

Went for a walk in a nature park.

I love being in the woods this time of year. Check your dingy for ticks though. I have a work buddy who can't eat red meat anymore because he missed one.

 

When I came home I took a shower after we checked obvious areas for ticks.

Pops has alpha-gal as of the end of last summer. He has ate barbque, steak, bacon, and various other alphagal-nese meats his entire life.

He told me that he'd rather have a swollen throat and eat a steak than not. So I have brushed up on my Med training.

 

Fun fact: TVP is made moreso with wheat than soy. Soy gets the publicity, but wheat does the heavy lifting.

I started again because smoking is better than going to jail for assault... now I'm hooked again...

Hopefully, she isn't crazy as I really enjoyed today, but unsure if I can handle that again....

My truck isn't going anywhere just like my job unless I make another "F up." Video. I've been here at work since mid-July of 2017. Once I'm fully vested I'll be looking elsewhere unless management changes for the better.

Nicotine gum. Might work for you. I never could get hooked on smoking, but I like the gum. I can go without it no problem though. I just enjoy it and it does help me not eat sometimes when I shouldn't.

 

This is interesting, I don’t know if I’ve known anyone to only chew the gum after never smoking, but I get your theory. I gained a lot of weight after I quit smoking, mainly because I could actually taste the food.

 

Don't beat yourself up too much man, shit happens.
Get back on track and keep workin out.
