Reading that article, I don't think the writer has driven a Tundra. His complaints seem to be derived from others' reviews. Seriously, the lack of a split tailgate is a big complaint?

Agreed. I've never had an issue with the transmission in my truck. And to compare it to other trucks then say the towing capacity is a strong point makes no sense.

I'm disinclined to trust someone who can't even get the bed length correct.

if they wanted to do a real comparison, no one would pay the writer for it as it would be too short: Other trucks have cool toys and awesome numbers. Toyotas start in the morning and gets the job done. Done.

Article sounds biased. This is probably why I've been turned off from reading some of these car reviews and articles after all... Looking over this I would agree with @jpod

Those who own Tundras and have owned other brands are the happiest! I am no longer waiting for yet another expensive repair on my GMC or Ford. Instead I am out driving my Tundra. The real comparison is reliability and cost.

I’d rather have my six speed transmission than a ten speed transmission that stays broken.

We've heard all of that before. Let's compare the trucks and their service records at 60,000 miles.

Dead on. I knew my Chevrolet service advisors by name I was in the dealership so much for repairs. All I’ve done to my tundra is take it in for it’s scheduled maintenance. Would never go back

Well I hadn’t thought of needing a split tailgate before, but now I’m pretty pissed about it.

War Machine ...... thats funny as shit.
I hear that on the split gate design that if you have the tiny gate open and drop the fullsize gate with a trailer ball mount in the hitch it Will Interfere and Damage the Gate.
That would piss me off, so I'll stay right were I am here with the Tundra group!

There is no way dude has ever driven one. The TRD Fox suspension is “lumpy and rough”? Seriously? Has he ever driven a Trail Boss with those awful Ranchos and a block lift?

I could have bought a domestic instead and gotten 4 more gears and an overly complicated tailgate to comfort me while my truck sits on a lift at the dealer?? Why oh why didn’t anyone tell me?!

This guy has obviously never driven a tundra. Looking at his picture in the bottom of the post, I imagine him driving a chrysler 200 and thinking he's made it big time in the high stakes world of high school sports reporting.

I did an absolute shit ton of research before purchasing my tundra and I've always been drawn to well built, quality and reliable cars. Hence why I've only ever owned hondas and toyotas. There's just something special about purchasing a vehicle that you know is gonna be good to you and last a long time if you treat it right. The only way I could even fathom getting a truck from gm, ford, chevy or dodge is if I leased it and that's never an option for me because I drive too many miles and who the hell wants a constant car/truck payment. Pay this truck off as fast and possible and bank that money. If you can pay this truck off in like 3-4 years you can potentially be without a truck payment for over a decade depending on your driving. You can't beat that.

    Yes but he misused it.

It is actually refers to tequila rage sex with a cowboy and several farm animals. Correct usage would have been:
"After my first bunglesome I couldn't walk right for days"

Shitheads like that will complain about the handling of the 4Runner then in the same breath be all giddy over the Wranglers and Gladiators.
