I wound up buying the 2005 AC Tundra that I posted about here. Sight unseen from Vegas, long story. I am really pleased - it is super clean, little to no rust. Even better, the last owner put a ton of work into it - timing belt, water pump, thermostat, King coilovers in front, etc. From what I can tell it has a 3/1 lift with the coilovers in the front and a 1 inch block in the back.

But caveat emptor. There is something funny going on with the wheels and tires. Would really appreciate your advice.

It's running Fuel Shok wheels - 17x10 with a -18 offset. But he put T/A K02s on it, 275/70R17. The tires don't look quite right, I think it's because the rims are wider than the max allowed for that tire size. Pics or it didn't happen:

I've read the tire size threads and think my options are:
    • Get new tires. If I stay in the K02s, options include:
      • 295/70R17 (diameter 33.3, 69 lbs)
      • 305/65R17 (diamater 32.6, 59.5 lbs)
      • 33x12.50R17 (diamater 32.5, 62.2 lbs)
    • Keep the tires and get new wheels with a max rim width of 8.5
    • Just run them as they arrived.
Whoever lifted it ripped out the wheel liners and mud flaps, I have ordered replacements, understand I might have to cut or bend things for some of these combos, I'm ok with that.

FWIW I will also likely replace the 1" block in the back by putting in a new leaf set with a lift.

Main use is on dirt and gravel and snow in the blue ridge mountains.

    What would you guys recommend?

    Thanks,

    -Dave

Oof, yeah, you can run those on a 17x9 all day long but that 10 is too much. Not sure why bfg spec sheet calls for a 7-8.5, when most wheels you're going to find are 9s.

Wheels will likely be less expensive or same cost as new tires but are the better option in the long run, in my opinion.

You won’t be able to run mud flaps in the front with anything over 285+ you can get away with it in the rear.
