Do you name your rigs

Just curious who does and the names people go with

 

“Ginger”

 

Not sure how I feel about this. My wife always has, and we actually refer to hers by name. Doris the Dodge, Flora the Ford, and now Hazel the Honda.

I tried to name my truck – Tsé, Navajo for "rock", I think – but it just doesn't stick. Maybe because they are supposed to be female names for some reason, or because @Azblue is right. Hell, after 30 years of driving cars I still sometimes slip just saying "my truck" instead of "my car".

 

I don't have a name for my vehicles, nothing seemed to fit or just didn't consider it, but I also don't get butt hurt like Azblue does when I hear a friend name their vehicles lol. As a kid, my dad had an old F150 he called old blue. Not that original, but it stuck and made it easier to know which truck to get in when doing chores.

 

My daughters named my 05 Olaf one sub-zero morning because it was a frozen Tundra...Frozen....Tundra....Olaf....

....yeah

Sailors have been naming their vessels for hundreds of years, if not longer. If they didn't think it was silly, then I don't think naming your truck should earn you ridicule.

I named mine ‘the truck’

 

I don’t and I personally think naming a vehicle is lame as hell.

 

I call her Fat Amy! My wife named it after drinking and watching Pitch Perfect. Lame but it stuck.

 

I did name my truck. I call her Vera. I was trying to find something that stuck when I saw @RobertD's comment under his name.

My wife insists that all our vehicles have to have names.

 

Never named any of my vehicles but a girl I knew in college named my 4Runner “roofie”.

 

And I eat sushi too!

So my wife has named all of her vehicles, so of course she continued it with my Tundras. I had a white one, named Odin, and the current one is Barcelona Red, so named "Big Red."

 

The only thing that should be named is a yacht. Naming a truck is not right.

 

Why only Yachts.

 

My last truck (Chevy) was named "Ol Rusty". That son-of-a-bitch would bite my leg on the way out. It took me months after getting my new Toyota to realize that I didn't have to worry about when I got my last tetanus shot.
