What have you done to your 2.5 gen Tundra today?

I'm pretty sure I'm forgetting a couple other things since I waited a long time since I ordered it.

 

We can say you hauled them with your 3rd gen, so I think it fits

 

Got this from dealer, wanted something "softer" to put my cargo on and liked the oem one the best. Sorry for the dirty footprints, had to step on it a few times to get it adjusted, the sun should make it lay flat in a day or so.

Thanks man! I removed the whole door panel and grinded off the plastic welds that were holding it in place. When I re-installed I just used some JB Weld and it seems to be working well.

 

This will make your butt pucker.. I never do this but damn

I get down to 50 and start to sweat.

 

I've got the 38 gallon, I fill up when it hits half a tank, most of the time.

 

Me too, its less psychologically damaging that way.

 

Did a little bit more today.

Installed my newly painted tow hooks, wipers, cup holder (canned bed liner) and also the USB rear cig lighter.

 

Installed Yakima Overhaul HD towers and cross bars on the RetraxPRO XR. They’re not as sturdy as the Front Runner load bars, but these may be adjusted much higher. Being able to clear the shark fin is a nice option. Only rated for 300 lbs on road (or 180 lbs off road) though.

 

400 mile one day shakedown trip through VA to see an old shipmate. Just me, no pax, no payload. Speeds varied from a half hour of idling/parade speed on I95 while VDOT cleared a tree knocked into the roadway by a storm up to 75mph cruising for alot of it. The truck said 17.6 mpg at trip's end and says I still have over a hundred miles of range remaining. Guage shows a little under a quarter of a tank. Truck has 2500 miles total on it. Have not filled up to verify, but pretty happy with those numbers.

nice. I remember getting almost 18mpg on my first road trip. Don't see those #s anymore after installing 33 inch load E tires

For those of you that have installed this light sensor in a vehicle that didn't previously have one, did it only affect the dimming of the head unit/radio, or does it also change any part of the dash illumination, ie brightness/dimming, or not on at all?

 

Curious about this also. Nothing seems to change for me when turning on lights during daytime...

 

Apparently! I was the third order they ever shipped out of these! Now I am having TPMS problems since I didn't have factory ones to begin with. The ones I had didn't fit & so I had to buy aftermarket. Discount Tire refunded me for the aftermarket ones because they didn't work & I am waiting on Toyota ones now... Method has also been great to work with! I couldn't have asked for better customer service. That seems rare these days!

I did absolutely nothing to it. I was just mowing and thought how good our trucks look. Even when i haven't washed it in weeks.

 

Before installing the sensor when I turned my headlights on during the day (while towing our travel trailer) the head unit would go very dim to the point where I couldn't read it with sunglasses on. That no longer happens.

The center dash illumination I adjusted with the dial and can see it all the time now. I don't think it is affected with the light sensor but I could be wrong. I only installed it a few days ago and haven't driven much since.

Thanks, but not sure what you mean. The Yakima Overhaul HD and Front Runner load bars both are racks over the Retrax. If you meant instead of the Retrax, I had to have the hard tonneau cover to be able to lock up my stuff and keep it dry. Being a retractable cover, it can still be opened/closed with the racks on.

Installed my AJT chrome delete kit, vleds puddle lights, and picked up my tomahawk shift knob from the powder coater and re assembled it

 

That sounds perfect for me then. My windows are dark and I run my parking lights at all times to illuminate the dash so I can see it. The bonus of not dimming the head unit when the sun is out will be a huge benefit! I'm going to order one asap!
