    A bunch
Looks like a Titan front end with shorter lights. And the interior looks to have the tablet style screen, not integrated. 2 things I'd rather not see in the next Tundra.

Could give a shyte about looks, would take any over seas Toyota over what we can get in the states. Especially a diesel 70 series pickup.

    Undercoating
Biggest issue for me is keeping up with undercoating. Everyone of my coworkers has rust issues with there Toyota trucks. Yes mine has been extremely reliable. Even with undercoating, rust is still a major issue. I have family members that have older Silverado’s, some rust yes. Minor surface rust. If Toyota can fix the rust issues in the 2022 Tundra. I will be a proud owner of that truck.

Toyota running a 3.5 twin turbo with an electric motor on the front axle in the lemans hypercar class. They cap the hp @ 670. Is this the future for the Tundra. No front diff with no transfer case, no front prop shaft. This is just the opposite of the current Toyota AWD SUV’s set ups.Throw in an aluminum body and composite bed. Coil rear springs vs leaf springs???

I may be alone here but the front end of that looks terrible and if that is what the new Tundra front will look like it will be terrible.

you can kinda see the monstrous 50'' touch screen display in that pic

I agree, I thought I wouldn't care about the looks just the specs but that's awful. I doubt thats the new land cruiser though looks more like a gx/4runner size

I just cannot buy any GM product even though that Trail Boss does look fine! Back in 1988 I bought a brand new Grand Am. All kinds of issues...timing gears, transmission and giant rust spot under the door trim all within 4 years. Of course they fixed the timing gears by reinstalling the same "pressed fiber" gears. Transmission they claimed they could not even hear even though it howled like a wolf at the moon. Rust spot was fixed with a grinder and paint as a good will gesture..in and out of the body shop in one day....rust likely to return in short order. All in all a POS from day 1. Forward Fast to 2011. We bought an Equinox. Holy solenoid Batman...about every third start it sounded like there was no oil in the engine. Dealer would only take care of somewhat related recalls that danced around the issue. I asked if metal shavings in the oil at 3,000 miles was normal? No answer and no response besides a free oil change. What was probably worse than the POS vehicles was the POS service. Aside from the timing gears, absolutely no accountability on their part, and with the Equinox it was absolute disregard for the evidence right in front of their freaking face. Traded in that POS too..it was either that or go to court under the lemon law. There was an Equinox thread with thousand of posts from hundreds of people with the same issue. One guy actually got a new vehicle under the lemon law..and the new Equinox had the same issues inside of 1,000 miles. So yeah, even though their trucks are different animals the what I bought, the corporate culture is likely unchanged. I will never dip my toe in the GM waters ever again.

I live in northern ny. In the winter we regularly get feet of snow at a time. They use dirt and salt on the roads. I have no rust on my truck after 3 winters. I do have ziebart undercoating. I’ve seen other tundras with no rust also. I see Chevy, dodge, and fords with extreme rust all the time. A lot of them have fender wells that are falling apart or bumpers barely hanging on. Not saying Toyota’s don’t rust, but I’ve never seen one anywhere close as bad as some other brands.

I think Toyota learned their lesson after the frame failures/replacements on previous generations. I will say that is where the Japanese manufacturers have the domestics beat, they learn from their mistakes and take corrective action in the future.

I can't tell you how many times I have bought a part for an older Japanese bike or car and the part is a better version of the original part due to redesign to prevent failure. This goes for the little rubber bumper on the brake pedal (famous for failing in mid 90's Hondas/Acuras and would leave your brake lights on) to redesigned cam chain tensioners on Yamaha and Honda MC's.

I bought my truck in December and by then all the undercoating places were booked up and not accepting appointments. We already had too much snow on the ground or I would have fluid filmed it myself like my last truck. I was under my truck on saturday and there's still less rust on it than what the brand new F150s sitting on lots have. Seriously, go on youtube and check out New F150 Rust.

My ex-boss had a Ford..she was a lifelong Ford owner. IIRC it was a 2016. It was in the shop for 6 straight weeks while they tried to fix a little electronic quirk. Funny once it was fixed she dumped it for a Chevy. About that same time a fried who was a lifelong Chevy guy dumped his for a Ford. Meanwhile, my team leader and another co-worker both sold their Tundra's...and bought new Tundra's.

Your Ziebart plan seems to be working. My Tundra was a year old at purchase. Underbody looked great when purchased, pressure washed and undercoating applied. Problem is just not surface rust, this seems to be deeper. Just unacceptable for a modern vehicle. I’m hoping and I’m sure many are assuming Toyota will do something to address these issues on the 2022.

I just hope they dont have the screen like that land cruiser, not integrated into the dash, I dont like that look at all.

at that point, just make it detachable and so we can use an iPad Pro/surface pro to take with us.

that is the actual 300 land cruiser. And the next gen tundra looks like it’s taking the same terrible chunky front styling cues. B5DF94B5-010B-4636-9B37-F3FD8DA6B041.jpg

looks like a lot more front overhang, perhaps some approach angle has been reduced

hard to tell from that though.

They might have added filler under the cover to disguise it some.

Looks like they did what Nissan did with the new Titan to increase turning radius by moving the front axle back.

I'm suprised they're still running what appears to be random sized wheels and tires. Those latest spy shots look like they could be on 22" wheels with 30"? tires.
It may be 20's and 32's like we have stock now but they just look weird and out of place. Especially with that 6' long front clip. I'm hoping it's the wrap making it look weird but more and more I'm getting the feeling that these trucks are gonna be butt fugly

I would assume they're just running random wheels and tires to avoid giving their competitors any hints.

I think it'd be that, and to also see how it rides with different amounts of rubber. If you can get it feeling nice on a 20" rim, then 18s should feel even better.

Maybe 20's are the smallest now because of some beefy brakes incoming? Pictures sure don't look like it, but maybe they are 22's which could make 18's be tight if possible. Highly doubt this since HD's can even get 17's to fit over their brakes, but just an idea tho throw out there especially with regenerative braking being linked to the batteries possibly.

I like it. If they could bring out a budget minded model in the $50k to $60k I would certainly drive that. But would they?

Couple items I see from this picture - 1 - earlier there was a discussion that the gas filler cap is on the passenger side, doesn't seem to be the case. and 2 - It still needs to gas up. :) wonder how often? Let the discussion take off again ;)

That is exactly what I take from it....

    1. Still needs gas and not diesel. Although the test driver could be inside getting a slim Jim and a Coke and that was the only place to park since it is towing a trailer.

    2. Driver side grab handle seen again.

    3. No passenger fuel door.

    4. Really hard to tell with the blanket on it, but truck looks kind of ackwardly long. Not digging the overall body style so far, but a lot could change from release next year.....

Also, the rear window of the crew cab is always completely covered. I bet they put a small hot tub in the back seat.....

I bet it does come out next year, or they release it dec 31 so they can say the 2022 came out sequentially, and not have a filler
