Has anyone out a set of Amp Steps on their trucks that weren't meant for a tundra?

I'd like to put some on my truck (I don't really have the $1400) so I'd like to get a used set. I was looking locally to buy them but the only ones I can find are for Ford's/Chevy/Dodge.

Is the only thing that differs that I can tell are how they mount to the truck underneath the doors. Have people drilled out to make the holes fit for the Tundra?

I've also seen people cut their steps to length also.

You can try pulling the instructions for both sets to compare. The parts list will give you some insight to how these mount and what hardware comes with the kit.

They are definitely not universal brackets. The way they mount and fold up to the bottom of a GM truck is not the same as they are on a Toyota.

I'm not sure about installation from different trucks but I thought I would give you my experience with amp research steps..
I have a set of amps on my tundra and I'm not impressed at all.
Imo they are a great edition to your tundra if you live and drive in the city 90% of the time.
I live in Alaska and do a lot of driving on long, dirt/gravel/ sandy type roads.
Mine get sand and grit in the hinges and quit working all the time, on the left side it actually stripped the drive gear in the actuator.
Easy fix and only about $30 but still I don't think they will ever hold up for anyone doing much off pavement driving.
    Good luck with your upgrade.
