What will you buy afterwards? Everything else will be inflated, too.

Increased demand for used vehicles while the supply of clean, low mileage used vehicles declines.

How much have we gotten in universal basic income checks in the past year? 5 grand? I estimate this truck to be about that much inflated, along with every other truck.

So it's new I assume? A dealer forgot about it in the back of a warehouse? surely... and it's gold.

You can ask for whatever crazy price you want, doesn't mean it's going to actually sell for that.

I don't know about y'all bit I bought this truck and brand for it's REP! I ain't selling for shit. Hopefully I can keep up with the little stuff and getr to a milli. If ya got the money by all means but that 800+ truck payment. Not my game. I do love looking at what guys do to the newer gens too though. This is a forum of good people and that'll likely help me keep it as long as I can and hopefully some other folks

Not sure if its the same truck, but I went to that dealership back in October and they had one just like it, 105k miles for $17k. It had a number of small dents (not dings). I was more interested in another they had but the steering wobbled when the brakes were applied. They insisted they did a test drive and 40 point inspection and did not offer to fix. I did not have a good experience.

I would not sell my 2005 DC for 22k. It’s too good to replace. My son gets it when he’s done with the 4R.

I’m pretty familiar with the the 1st gens, and buying a high mile one is good if you can fix things yourself. But at about 250k all the ball joints and tire rod ends are shot, steering rack is probably leaking, CV boots are almost on their way out, shocks are gone. You’d pay close to 8k for Toyota to swap all that stuff out.

I feel bad for the non mechanical people that pay 15k for a truck with 200 on it.

I paid 8,500 for my 06DC with 230k and roached front suspension. I pretty much only wanted a clean truck, body, paint and frame with a solid running drivetrain. Those were hard to find. Lots of trucks out there with dings, peeling paint and rusty undercarriage.

Not sure why, but my truck suspension went tired at around 120k. Didn’t rebuild it till 158k. Yeah on the non-DIYers getting the short end. You can see new members here coming in and you know with the amount of miles its time to Rebuild! Good thing is many seem to understand this as they’ve studied here prior to buying.

I wasn’t laughing at the first 5 years of my Personal Property Tax on the truck. The Valuation on which it was taxed never dropped which meant large checks every year. :annoyed:

All the vehicles I've ever owned had suspension issues after 100-150k miles. Its the rubber that goes bad. Not a brand thing. Just normal maintenance. My wife's '09 bankruptcy mobile (GM SUV) had bad suspension bushings and blown struts at 65k miles.

The average new car payment is $568. That does a lot a maintenance on a legendary first gen every month.

All 3 of my toyotas have been this way. None of them were completely shot, they were ok for a one person DD, but none of them could have handled anything close GVWR.

Yes it is. The thing with inflation is everything inflates at the same time or another way to look at it is ‘they’ (insert tinfoil hat memes) make your saved money and hard work worth less slowly over time. A form of robbery, yet we accept this?

I guess you are stuck with a Toyota now?

You driven by the Gas Station lately? 6 months ago went from $1.75 avg to $2.60 right after Corn Popped.
