Was dynamic cruise an option on ‘17s?

I brought a ‘17 TRD O/R home and the dealer said it had dynamic cruise, but unless there’s some trick to turning it on all I can find is regular cruise. I’m pretty choked about it as I was looking at ‘18+s for this feature alone...but its also partly on me for not testing it I guess.

Was this an option that could be added? I’m gonna call the dealer and try to make it right, ideally by getting them to enable it but otherwise might have to settle for a complimentary oil change or something.

 

I’m pretty positive that it didn’t become available until 2018.

 

Dealer owes you an upgrade to dynamic cruise if your decision to buy was based on that assertion.

 

That is part of the TSS system, pretty sure WarMachine is right, added in 2018

 

That’s correct. I actually waited for the 2018 for the adaptive cruise and pre collision features.

Man... that sucks and I’m sorry. Did the dealer actually document that the 17 he sold you had the safety sense stuff?

In 18 the features were:

-adaptive cruise
-pre-collision brakes
-auto headlights
-lane departure warning

This package is nice because most of it needs to be driver activated. All can be deactivated and adjusted while driving.

 

Good luck getting it added. It would be pretty extensive. They would need to install the forward facing camera behind your windshield, the grill-housed radar sensor, all of the wiring, software, and the user controls.

It might be easier for you and the dealer to cooperate on a trade.

 

Yeah that's what I'm afraid of. The truck is a perfect fit in every other way so I'm not gonna get rid of it, it just kind of bums out the excitement of a new truck.

Oh well, I'll just ask for my next service to be free and call it a day.
