I just got a 2004 SR5 DoubleCab Tundra w/ 194k miles w/ stock suspension and struts. I'm wanting to upgrade, but wondering what the best option is. I'm not looking to lift it very much, but just looking for solid, comfortable suspension on and off-road. Let me know!

    Thanks,
    Mario

Lots of people here use 1stgenoffroad. That will be a good place to start looking for ideas, and compare prices. There seems to be a shock shortage everywhere on every vendor. You may be looking at long lead times before you get your schtuff.

I ordered my Bilstein 5100's with Dobinson's springs, shipped to my door assembled. I paid extra for assembly so I could just install it when I got it. It saved me hassle that other DIY'ers like me went through.

The general consensus on shocks is that 5100's are a good "all around" shock.

Im kind of curious myself. Im taking my truck in this friday to get my bed sprayed with that rhino liner stuff and have been looking into doing a leveling kit and rims n tires. I recall reading some threads on leveling kits and am kind of curious which kit to get and do I really need to go with the whole shabang or can I just get away with the ARB OME leveling kit?

I have 2003 and spent some time on forums and talking to local people. is a great company to talk with and offers several options - I ordered my parts from them. Give them a call. Went with Elka 2.5" shocks and Deaver leaf springs. Getting a 2.5/1 lift out of it. My next move is to get a slide-in camper.
