How often do you have to fix your Tundras? If not, what are you doing to upgrade/boost?

Most of my stuff I've done could have been put off except my eccentric bolt kit, and front end overhaul. (The eccentrics are what the alignment shop uses to fine tune the alignment.) Rust removal/prevention too.

That's the million dollar question. Repairs are directly inverse to how much use the truck gets. Lots of use = Lots of repairs, etc. My 2001 Limited was extremely neglected, so it took me most of last year to sort it out and get it to where I could drive it.
As you know, Toyotas in general are very reliable vehicles, so putting a 2001 F-150 next to a comparable Tundra would have obvious results. I can't speak to mods, as mine is all stock except for headers.

I feel it has alot to do with how it was maintained before me and how I continued. It also depends what year and most importantly was it born/raised in cold climate with extensive road usage.

 

For sure. I'm in the first year of ownership with this one and have been replacing/upgrading everything that was neglected by the previous owner. In addition, I lifted it a little so it's still pretty non-stop Tundra projects for me. I enjoy automotive projects and... considering the truck only cost me $400 worth of bartered goods, I don't mind getting greasy and spending some $$ on it. It's turning into a nice little truck. It actually gets compliments from people at gas stations now.

 

In 5 years only two parts on my truck have actually needed replacing. 1 was a torn CV boot which had lasted ~16 years and the other was my brake light switch. Everything else that I've replaced was simply due to age and me trying to ahead with routine maintenance. I'll probably replace my 19 year old alternator this year just so I don't get stuck somewhere remote.

Actually, if you consider my torn steering shaft seal that would make 3. I was happy to replace that one though, especially for $13.
