There’s a good chance that, after the pandemic drama cancelled so many public appearances, we may get paparazzi betting that @The Real Marty McFly will actually appear, so we’re gonna plan for Anza-Borrego because it’s the only place we can picture with enough space for dispersed camping, if all the tour busses decide to stay Saturday night.

These big group runs work best if everyone has comms. If you’re not ready to ham it up, try grabbing a cheap-ass Boefang handheld.

If you don’t have comms you’ll miss all the witty banter that occurs over comms! Then we’ll arrive at a spot with all kinds of inside jokes and you’ll be on the outside. Then you’ll miss a turn and we’ll lose you.

Depending on what frequency we use, you may be better spending around $50 to get a programmable Baofeng from the rainforest. Walkie-talkies (especially FRS- family radio service) out of the box can be very limited on what they can communicate with.

 

This might happen to me but I’m willing to take the chance. I’m in!

I like the idea of embedding planing for this trip into this thread instead of starting a new thread. That way we get the yahoos that already know what to expect instead of any unindoctrinated yahoos.

 

If you like shit shows join on in!! In all seriousness tho, bunch of great people, no one gets left behind(maybe a couple children will this time). If you don’t have a radio a cheap bofang from Amazon works fine. That’s what I have. The chit chat and stories you hear theu the radio is worth the money. From adults needing diaper changes, people running over snakes, emergency calls, it’s all fun. Hope you can join the group.
