2nd Gen Pre Runner Questions

I was wondering who all here has a Pre runner body kit on there 2nd an what brand. I'm looking at the McNeil kit an can tell if the rear fender swoops that go above the bed inter fear with the flat OEM bed rails. I still want to be able to run my Canopy with the body kit. pics an feed back would be great.

I could be completely wrong so take what I'm saying with a grain of salt, but seeing as how any tonneau cover made for tundras fit 07-21 models, and since I'm pretty sure that these are compatible with tonneau covers, you'd have no problems running your canopy with them. The problem is, you're gonna have to get 14-21 tail lights and a 14-21 tail gate, and depending on the option you get, you might even have to get a 14-21 rear bumper. All in all i think if you're gonna do a pre runner build then this is the way to go (i mean who doesn't love an updated rear ) but if you don't wanna do all of that then maybe go with the advanced fiberglass bedsides, that'll work too

 

Yeah , just the 07-13 rear bed sides are so much more sexy looking. I sent a email to theres sales team still haven't herd back yet on my question. If it comes down to it. I'll see if they can modify the rear before shipping or I can dread doing fiberglass work. Its just annoying at this point that theres not a pic with the angle I want to see from or stating any thing about it in the product description.
I know its outer lay skin but with the curve towards the top I cant tell how pointed it is towards the inner skin.

I just really am trying to line my ducks up with this one. All ready got space reserved for the items an ready paint booth for paint match. The hood an front fenders will be the first thing on. An since this will be at my shop 2 hours away. If I take a week off of work to get the bed sides modified and on an everything painted. I really don't want to have to go back do to not having stuff I need.

 

Man I'm gonna need pictures when you get this stuff installed!!! Nothing's better than a good ol' 2nd gen pre runner

 

I definitely will upload photos , I still need to go through and put all my pics into albums.

After the kit installation it will probably be 3 months or 4 months before buying the LT suspension kit an installing it. An at that point I'll be getting different rims an tires. Still haven't decided on the combo yet but definitely a 37x13.50R17 or 18.

 

Any ideas on what LT kit you're gonna run? MCM and Camburg are pretty solid options also I'm sure you probably already know this but I'm only saying this because I've seen people make this mistake before, but be sure to get your truck regeared with either 4.88 or 5.29 gears so you can keep that stock power and mpg

 

When I was doing the research I came to the conclusion of Advanced Fiberglass. That’s what a few of the built 2nd gens are running on here and looks great.

I have McNeil fiberglass on my 2nd gen. If I had to do it over again, I'd go SDHQ.

 

@2ndGenKy yes going to regear to 5:29 with auburn locker. This beast already weighs 6780lbs when I crossed scale empty.
