I just bought a 2008 Tundra w/ just under 230K on it. I've never had one before. It runs great and all it seems to need is an alignment. I know these machines go a long ways if treated right. I am wondering, from people who really know these trucks, what they would do right away to make sure it is treated right for the long haul.
    - Recommended engine oil type?
    - Should I flush the transmission? Just change the transmission fluid? Leave it alone?
    - Random other things to check?
    - Any additive I should run through it? (sea foam, injector cleaner, etc.)
Any advice is appreciated since I am new to the Toyota world!

no on the trans flush, drain and fill. Doing a flush on an older trans will likely result in some expensive reairs.
oil type is in your manual- any good synthetic oil is good. Believe the small v8 is 5/30 and 5.7 is 0/20

Probably needs fluids changed-trans, xfer case, diffs, coolant. If yours has the small v8 motor, look at the timing belt. The 5.7 uses a chain so no worry there.
Check the usual suspects- shocks for leaks, suspension components and springs, exhaust for wear and any joints/bushings. Lube the zerks in the driveline.
Spark plugs may need a check unless there are records of when they were changed. Iridium plugs are typically good for 50-110k miles, but are easy to check and see how they are wearing. Air filter and cabin air filter.

Thanks for the advice! it is the 5.7 Liter. I will plan on a drain and fill on the transmission.
