ICON 2.5 resi CDC vs kings vs fox vs falcon vs bilstein

All big names....all big competitors....in the suspension shock world...all require maintenance based on mileage and use....they all need inspected and rebuilt kits installed after a certain time period....or heavy use....which one is more dependable than the other....which needs more frequent maintenance and at what cost to the owner....do it yourself or bring to a specialist....how long does it take for inspection and rebuild .....will owners have to be with out their truck for a specific amount of time....1 day....2 days?.... all 4 shocks will have to be inspected and possibly rebuilt....they say if you rebuild one shock....might as well rebuild all 4 shocks....does anyone know the down time for the rebuild.....of all 4 shocks....annually or every 15 to 24 months....if just freeway and city driving....thru all 4 seasons...in puget sound area...rain mostly....light snow....mild summers....so my question.....is one shock better than the other?....and for which reasons....thank you....I have Icons part number 58750C....2.5 resi with CD.....I think with the 700 lb spring rate....Peace....

 

maybe call Accutune in CA. They only rebuild (not sure about sell) resi systems. But, they should have a lot to say, especially in the King Fox arena.

Thank you.... here’s a few pics of the icons 2.5 with resi....and cdc....along with maintenance recommendations from icon....looks like every 40 thousand miles street use....

 

All a rebuild is replacing some seals, oil, and visual inspection of the mounts, shafts for any pitting that would rip the new wiper seal. DIY for under $150. The oil being the expense. If not capable of DIY, then it’s going to be the turn around time to whoever is performing the rebuild. Plenty of places that may be local or sent out to the actual manufacturer, or distributor/shops that rebuild.

if it’s a street queen truck, then I would not bother until 50k miles atleast. Keep an eye for any leaks until then. Periodically check the nitrogen pressures.
