Thank you Tyler! Received it yesterday. Going to have it Line-X soon. Excited to have this and a peace of mind to have as a security measure. Thank you for your innovation.

Question for those who installed on a TRD Pro. Did you have to completely remove the 2 bolts on the back of the skid plate and use the supplied bolts or do you just loosen them and slide the plate in with the original hardware? Thanks

I dont have a pro, but i just did the install with a trd front plate. I had to take off the bolts anyway because i put security bolts in, but you need a decent angle to push in tylers plate. With the stock hardware the bolts didnt have enough length by the looks of it to leave the nut on and just slide it under. I had the TRD plate very loose and i still had to push pretty hard to get it in with the slight gap that was between the plate and the cross member. It might be possible to mallet it in lol

Got my 3/16” aluminum plate installed. Was a little tight under the truck, but still only took about 15 minutes.

I think it was a bare aluminum plate.

I have a question. My brother picked up a used Tundra, it has the RCI Engine, Transfer case/Transmission skid plate, and the fuel tank skids. That information is from him. He is worried about the theft of his catalytic converters, will the catalyst theft deterrent work on his truck with the Transfer case/Transmission plate from RCI installed? I am asking for him, he does not own a computer and still uses a basic Nokia phone. Thank you for any answers.

I like the sound of this guy. I am actually surprised they still support those phones.
He would have to take off the RCI mid section plates.

He is almost a Luddite, with the exceptions of being an Audiophile, and a cinema junkie. I will let him know on the skid plate, he was not sure if his RCI plate would go over the top of the one for the Catalyst protectors. He is at my place tilling the garden beds, and he knows I am researching buying a Tundra, they are just impossible to find right now *super sad face* I have driven his, not as plush as my dad's ram, but it feels sturdier.

Get the 3/16 steel plates, way more protection than the RCI. He wont be disappointed. American trucks have always seemed "looser".

GREAT NEWS!!! My main powder coater finally has a new oven while he builds the big one. I should be hooking up my trailer and loading it down with plates for him to knock out later this week

Thank you Ed! I will let him know. Oh I thought the Tundra was an American Truck? That was my main draw to it, being built in the great nation of Texas. A friend has one too, think that is the reason my brother bought his. Thanks again!

Your right, i meant american brand i guess. While made in the USA, tundras still use Toyotas japanese derived quality and manufacturing practices, which is where the difference is in my opinion. By the way, be sure he gets both the plates, the rear cats will be slightly exposed otherwise.

So, yesterday when my headers were installed, the installer took the best pictures I have of my plates before and after, I will likely make a new version of the install guide off these

JBA long tubes, I found a set used for $700 shipped, had them blasted and cerakoted. I haven’t really pushed the truck yet, but I notice the torque for sure? Feels more like my wife’s diesel accelerating

I read this entire thread and ordered non-powdercoated 1/4" aluminum front + rear cat shields for my stock '11 Tundra 5.7L 4x4. I stumbled upon this when Googling for cat security options.

First off: thank you Tyler for being a solid person and putting in the intense effort to create a great solution.

I realize the website is brand new and will slowly get enhanced over time with popular requests. Yes, the logo is huge but I was able to figure out how to scroll past it. The next time you're in GoDaddy perhaps some quick things to include on the product pages are:
    • the weights of the plates
    • say that the installation hardware is included
    • include approximate shipping timeframes
    • include some additional pics with the shields installed
For me, seeing the bare aluminum setup in this thread somewhere and reading that you can more quickly ship non-powdercoated shields was what helped uncomplicate this and get me through the checkout process without any back + forth questions. The internal debate which held me up was sorting through all the options + consequences and those key pieces of info above (which I eventually got from this thread) was what nailed it. Not that I wouldn't entertain the dialogue here but it's a lot to sift through for someone not willing to read everything. Please don't take this as negative critique: I just wanted to share what the process was like for me tonight. You still got a customer!

    For everyone else reading this:
I absolutely loved the posts describing Tyler's character through your experiences, showing your installed pics and the specs of what you've got here in this thread, but it's all hidden in this forum. What I encourage you to do is also consider uploading those to and make it shine there! Nothing is more authentic to someone new than seeing that level of transparency on a platform with so many eyeballs. I immediately went there when I saw Tyler's Facebook link on his website so I can see what others had to say about his stuff but didn't see any, just his posts.

When Tyler eventually has a lot more free time he can also consider having a customer gallery on his website for pics, specs + testimonials to ensure the basics don't get missed. Maybe he can link back to this thread in his About Us page so folks can see the journey he took. Just reading about his character here was what got me committed to reading all 16 pages!

a guy down my street got hit last night. I was outside having my morning smoke before i left for work this morning and heard, he always passes by my house the same time. His F150 sounded like a sherman tank and his exhaust was hanging almost unsupported. I need to check my cameras from last night and see if they stopped and considered my tundra.
