    Hello y'all,

First time posting, long time creeping, possibly a bit of an idiot considering my current predicament.

I am the long time owner of a 2001 2wd Limited Tundra that I bought in 2006 immediately following my first deployment, paid it off pretty quick. Happily blew out the front suspension as a young lad driving around in SoCal doing things that were not intelligent, then I took it to Idaho and discovered it wasn't quite as fun to drive in the snow.

I left Idaho, moved back to Cali, then to the East Coast :( but here in the height of COVID mania with orders not to leave my house except to go to work I did a thing, and bought a 2005 4x4 DC from a lil dealer in the North East. 75k miles for a decent price, and they were happy to ship it to me for almost nothing. This should probably set off alarms but like I said I'm dumb, so now I have both trucks. Unfortunately, they hit me with the tinder angles on the DC so the frame/undercarriage I thought was good? "Slight rust". And the bed has a pretty terrible spray on liner that bubbled up so that's got to get fixed as well.

To snap to today, I'm deployed and this website isn't blocked, so I've spent a lot of time looking at the first gen forum and the LT forum and all I've got now is bad ideas and a lot of time to think about them.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk (my bandwidth lets me upload pics but I can't see them so sorry if they're in an odd spot)

Pics look good! 2001 is where it's supposed to be, and 2006 is where it's supposed to be in your post!

Welcome! You're gonna have a lot of fun revamping a lot of that rust on the DC. They definitely gave you the tinder angles. They didn't show you any of the POF angles...

    Thank you for serving! :hattip:

Definitely not the angles I wanted lol.

The 2001 needs some cosmetic love but mechanically she's a beast, not even 200k on her. If I hadn't been stuck in the sand or snow several times in recent years I'd probably just locker and LT her, but I don't know if a locker would be a cure all. Also roll down rear windows are cool.

I'm considering starting to buy parts for the suspension that are interchangeable between the two, and replacement parts for the handful of things I identified on the DC. But my wife has already been very patient with me just having 2 trucks, I don't think she'd appreciate having to drag heavy parts into our garage by herself...
