Any sprays or secrets to cleaning under the hood? Saw a Youtube video of a guy spraying Armor All tire cleaner/shine all over engine. Engine looked clean and glossy. Wouldn't it be sticky??

I wouldn’t do that...yes Armor All attracts dust for sure. I periodically hose off the engine bay and wipe down with a towel.

I believe keeping it clean is a lot easier than trying to clean it when it is neglected and all gunked up.
I pressure wash the firewall, inside fenders etc. regularly to keep them clean. Obviously stay clear of electrical components as much as possible.
Sometimes I will use whatever engine cleaner is handy, like Gunk brand or similar, but mostly just the pressure washer.

Thank you, yeah, I was like looks good today dude, but let's check back in two weeks. If the engine is already prone to dust, why add something sticky?? LOL, love Youtube.

I do the same ... it's much easier to detect a leak of some sort on a clean engine than on a dirty engine. All you need to do after it's all cleaned up is open the hood to admire / show off your V8 more often, and look out for shiny wet spots.

Keeping the underside of your hood clean is also a good idea, but use some sort of drop cloth over the windshield, the fenders, and a cool engine if you need to spray it.

Aerospace 303 is the key. Its my one detailer go to for interior/exterior/and engine bay. Shines, restores, has uv protect, and repels dust. Safe on rubber so it can be used on tires. Does not leave things shiny/sticky only a nice matte to semi-gloss finish.

I can't say that it is ever spotless, but in general I like to open my hood and see that it is relatively clean. I also believe (or want to believe at least) that when I take my truck in for oil change the mechanic will pay a little more attention if he sees that I care about my truck.

I keep the underside clean also. This is a truck with 85,000 miles and being used on construction sites every day.

It is holding up perfectly. It's been several months since I painted it and I don't see any discoloring or other issues.

Sweet! I'm looking at doing this sometime soon, if I can find the VHT in blue. No one around me carries it lol
My plan is to mimic your silver section and where you have red, I'll have blue. I also won't be adding the badges.

I'm probably going to do that for the blue. All the shops around me have the silver and most carry the black, red, and orange. Only one place that's about an hour each way carries it. The stores near me don't even have it as an option online...
Thanks for the info. I'll stop derailing the cleaning thread.
