Don't think I'll be towing anything for the near future so I'm thinking of putting a Hitch step there. Are they universal?

I believe they are universal. As long as it’s the corresponding hitch size? The style would be your personal preference. That’s if I’m correct assuming you’re talking about the step that goes into your rear tow hitch. Good luck.

Yes, the only consideration is receiver size, HD trucks can have 2.5 to 3 inch, where most vehicles and 1/2 tons use standard two inch. Get a step for 2 inch and you will be good to go.

If you are talking about the removable steps then why does it matter about towing anyway?

And if you are talking about the removable steps then yes the hitch sizes are universal so the steps that fit them will be too.
